Students who clear Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced are accepted into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for a BTech course. However, there are other IIT admission requirements apart from JEE Advanced 2025 cut-off. Candidates need to clear the JEE Main exam prior to appearing for the JEE Advanced exam. There are presently around 17,000 BTech seats in 23 IITs in India. Applicants to engineering studies in India's IITs have to be eligible to appear for both the JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations.
The JEE Advanced 2025 cut-off will be posted online by IIT Kanpur. Candidates can use the results to find out the category-wise qualifying marks required to clear the test. The lowest score required to be placed in the rank list is referred to as the JEE Advanced cutoff. Candidates will be considered for admission if they score IIT qualifying marks. The GEN category had the lowest cut-off of 109 in JEE Advanced last year. The general EWS cut-off stood at 98, in comparison.
CRL (General) candidates have IIT qualifying marks between 110 and 360 are likely to have a probable closing rank of 27,000 in JEE Advanced 2025. OBC-NCL students would close at 9,500 with equal marks, while GEN-EWS students would close at 5,800 with 100-330. SC students would require 55–310 marks, whereas ST students would require 55–305 marks.
JEE Advanced Cut off 2025
To be eligible for JEE Advanced, students should get at least 35% of the maximum marks in the general category, 31.5% in the OBC-NCL/EWS category, and 17.5% in the SC/ST/PwD category. Every institute will have a unique cutoff for admission, although the JEE Advanced 2025 cut-off is the minimum mark that a student should get to clear the IIT JEE Advanced exam. Admission to the JEE Advanced participating institutions will be provided with consideration to eligible candidates.

Factors for Determining JEE Advanced 2025 Cutoff
While preparing the JEE Advanced 2025 cutoff, the following factors will be considered by the authorities:
- The number of students who appeared in the 2025 JEE Advanced exam
- The number of students who were registered for JEE Advanced
- Difficulty level of the JEE Advanced exam
- Cutoff graphs of the last years
JEE Advanced marks vs rank 2025 (Expected)
The marks for various ranks of JEE Advanced 2025 are likely to remain close to those for 2024. The marks for the top 100 candidates will vary between 355 and 300, with rank 1 being about 355. With further increase in rank from 101 to 1000, the marks will likely be in the range 250 to 200, showing lesser marks but stiff competition.
Since ranks 1001-2000 have slightly more competition, IIT qualifying marks will be between 199 and 150. Ranks 2001–5000 will grade between 149 and 130 because there is a bit more competition at a higher level. Finally, ranks 5001–10,000 scores will be between 120 and 110, which is just down from 2024.
Marks are likely to be between 100 and 95 for ranks 10001–15000, and between 50 and 40 for the last ranks (15001-25946), reflecting more relaxed cutoffs. With very slight changes from 2024, the fight will still be tough at the top but not so tough at the bottom.

Conclusion
In 2025, open-category candidates had to obtain a minimum of 8.68% in every subject and 30.34% in JEE Advanced to be eligible for a BTech seat in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Candidates belonging to the OBC category, however, had to obtain a total score of 27.30% and 7.8% in every subject. The SC and ST candidates had to score an overall of 15.17% and 4.34% in all subjects. The JEE Advanced result will reveal the minimum required score to be enrolled in IIT through JEE Advanced 2025.
