Somaiya Vidyavihar is an educational trust which was established in 1960 by Padmabhushan Karamshi Jethabhai Somaiya. It consists of 34 institutions spread across two main campuses in Mumbai. It also has several small campuses across Karnataka, Gujarat, and Maharastra. It offers quality education in various fields.

The KJ Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce is one of the premier institutions of Somaiya Vidyavihar. The college is affiliated to Somaiya Vidyavihar University, UGC recognized. The college has a 50-acre lush green campus.

KJ Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce Mumbai has canteens that remain open from 7 AM till late evening. They serve South Indian, Continental, and Chinese cuisines, and fast food. It also has a common room for ladies wherein they can relax during free lecture hours. The computer Lab has about 52 systems with an internet connection.

Apart from academics, the institute focuses on sports and other activities too. The college has an athletic track. It has a football ground, a cricket ground, and a volleyball court. It also has a triple jump pit. These facilities are provided to the sports lovers. The gymkhana of the college provides indoor game facilities.
