Mithibai College of Arts was founded by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) in the year 1961 as a part of the trust's Silver Jubilee function. NAAC reaccredited the college 'A' Grade with CGPA 3.57. In the current academic year 2018-2019, Mithibai College has memorable achievements, the college was awarded 'Best College Award' by the University of Mumbai, 1st rank for Science and Commerce faculty, and 2nd rank for Arts faculty by India Today. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted Mithibai College "Autonomy" for a period of 10 years without any onsite visits by an expert committee.

The Mithibai focuses on in socio-public services like NSS, NCC, CSR activities and also encourages students in extracurricular activities to showcase their skills and talent, students from this college excel in many areas like sports, performing arts, Bollywood, national and international beauty pageants, etc. Mithibai College admission is offered in courses from 32 departments of which 16 are postgraduate departments with 10 departments conducting PhD programs.   • The Class timings are never fixed for every academic year. Assignments are compulsory but only related to the syllabus Quality is nice.
  • The method is teaching differs from teacher to teacher and also from topic to topic.
  • There is a Great atmosphere. Good crowd. Helpful teachers. Amazing infrastructure.

  • Participates in every festival of every college, they Others participate in K shit IJ and our college students are a part of the committee and never participants.

  • The daily routine of the college is very comfortable. Classes start on time and are regularly.
  • The information about projects, assignments and exams are given in advance and in detail.
  • The quality and method of teaching good and overall the college is very systematic. The only hitch is the attendance. There is a strict 75% attendance rule which is problematic.

  • There are presentations to be done. Unit tests are conducted in mid August and semesters in September.

The eligibility criteria for BMM in Mithibai College of Arts, Mumbai is given below,

Eligibility:

  • A candidate for being eligible for admission to the degree of BMM shall have passed XII  standard examination of Maharashtra Board of higher Secondary Education or its equivalent   from Science, Arts or Commerce stream.
  • No College shall conduct any entrance test in any form & the admissions are purely on merit duly following the reservation policy as per the norms of the Government of Maharashtra. While drawing the merit list, weightage has to be given to students from Arts (50%) Commerce (25%) & Science (25%) streams at 12th standard level.

 
Duration :

  • The course is a full time course consisting of 36 subjects. The duration of the courseis of  six semesters spread over three years. Number of students per batch shall consist of not more than 60 students.

Admission Procedure ::

Admission to F.Y.B.A classes will be conducted as per the guidelines and schedule announced by the University of Mumbai. The schedule of admission will be displayed on the Notice Board as it is received from the University.
 
All admissions are provisional subject to the approval of the University of Mumbai.
  • At the time of admission to First Year B.A course, students are required to fill in the University enrollment form, without which the admission will not be approved by the University of Mumbai. If they fail to fill in the enrollment form they will not be allowed to appear for the examination and their names will be struck off from the College Register.

  • No student will be deemed as admitted to the college unless he/she has filled in a fresh admission form and has paid the necessary fees & deposits and obtains approval from the University.

  • A student of this college who has qualified himself / herself for admission to a higher class will be admitted to such a class only if an application in the prescribed form, duly completed, has been received by the college office with the necessary fees on the dates, which are stipulated by the college at the time of results.

  • Students coming from other Colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai and selected for admission must apply for the Transfer Certificate in the prescribed form available in the college office. However, it is the responsibility of the student to obtain the Transfer Certificate and No Objection Certificate from his/her previous College and submit it to the college office on time. If the Transfer Certificate is not submitted on time, examination form will not be sent to the University.

  • Applicants from other than Maharashtra State Higher Secondary Board / University of Mumbai must support their statements of the last examination passed by attaching the certificates of passing and must also attach a photocopy of fee receipt of the provisional eligibility certificate at the time of admission. Students should submit the other necessary documents within one week of the commencement of the semester in the college office for confirmation of eligibility certificate.
