Internships 15 day internship at Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd. Key companies that visit our campus : - WIPRO (IT) - TECH MAHINDRA (IT) - AGS (Marketing) - Sprinklr (IT) - Ericsson (IT) - Bosch (Manufacturing). Average salary figure was around INR 3.25 lacks and highest salary was around 10 lacks per annum. Alumni network was too poor.

There were 4 hostels, 2 for boys and 2 for girls. Hostel fee per year was around INR 35000 per year for a twin shared room. Quality of food was average in mess and was above average in college canteen.

A candidate must secure 60% marks or equivalent in Higher School Examinations (Board) and must be of Science stream. Cutoff for B.Tech (Mechanical Engg) was around 19000 rank.

Class timings were not same for every day. But, if you have lecture then you have to attend back to back 4 lectures of 1 hour each and if you have lab then you have to attend 3 hours lab class. Quality of teaching was not good at all. Teachers were not too experienced and just dictated the notes in lectures.

Course fee for our batch was almost INR 2.6 lacks per annum. Scholarship was available to top AIEEE rankers who are rarely interested to get admitted in this college and Sikkim special concession which was direct 50% concession, was available for the students from sikkim who constituted 40% of the batch irrespective of their academic achievements. 

There were few student societies which were mostly inactive. Only MUN was the only active club in SMIT. The main festival was Kalarav (cultural). Life in college was okay.
