College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

There are in total 12 hostels in the college where 10 hostels are for boys and 2 for girls.
It is compulsory for a student to get a room inside IIT and every student studying in the IIT lives in the campus only.
Overall food quality is good and it costs 30 Rs per meal.
The quality of the classrooms is good as some of them are Air-conditioned,almost all the labs are Air-conditioned and have Wi-fi.Every hostel has 1 dining hall.
Overall the campus comes under one of the most beautiful campuses in India and it has lakes and mountains and because of its natural beauty and peacefulness, it is one of the ideal places for a student to study.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

I got admission into IIT Guwahati through JEE Advanced.
To qualify for JEE Advanced,first you have to qualify JEE Mains and if you are lucky enough to be among TOP 1.5 lakhs students you will get the opportunity to write for JEE Advanced.
Cutoffs depend on the branch in which you want to take admission.

Fees and Scholarships

Course Fees is around 90,000 per year.There are many scholarships available for students be it Merit-cum-Means Scholarship whose eligibility criteria is that your CGPA should be above 6 and your parent's annual income should be less than 5 lakhs.There is also Institute Merit Scholarship which is given to the toppers of the different department for that particular year.
Ona an average around 25% to 30% of students get the scholarship.
If however, the student is unable to get a scholarship you can easily get a loan from banks being selected in an IIT.

Clubs and Associations

There are many different clubs for the students such as Coding Club,Robotics Club,Finance Club,Dance Club(Cadence), and many sports clubs.
There are many festivals which happen throughout the year some of the important ones out of them are Alcheringa (Cultural Fest), Technique (Technical Fest), Spardha (Sports Fest) and there is also InterIIT which features sports events for all the different IITs students.There are many other small fests such as UDGAM.
There are plenty of opportunities for the students to explore any field.You can work in any sector you want and you will ample of opportunities.

Academics & Faculty : The class timings at Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Guwahati start from 8am - 5pm. The quality of teaching at the University is very high. The overall experience at the University is wonderful.
