Placements and Internships

4.5

  • With the increasing batch size, not everyone is getting what they want, but then not everyone can have Rs 25 lakhs per annum package. But 100% placements and Rs 12 lakhs per annum being the least package is still true.
  • HR is what XLRI is known for. Other than that there is an abundance of Genman roles, Marketing and sales roles for BM student. Consulting is also a very sought after option for all XLers, HR and BM alike.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

  • XLRI infrastructure is impressive.
  • Staying on campus is mandatory for PGDM students.
  • Food is good. A few fod joints on campus as well.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

  • Academic rigour of XLRI is one that truly tests your mettle. You push your limits and it seems your weekdays are defined by deadlines for submissions and quizzes you need to prepare for. Eventually you get used to the fast pace and fall into the rhythm. It's bitter sweet, like the burn you feel after a good workout. 80% of the faculty lives up to the XL standards. They are impressive and tough and make your life miserable with their expectations. A Few suck.
  • Most popular method of teaching here is case based. Pre-reads are given out in abundance and everyone strikes their unique balance between academics and fun.
  • Overall, XL challenges you to become your best self.

Fees and Scholarships

5

  • Fees is around Rs 20 Lakhs per annum for 2 years. So Rs 10 lakhs per annum. Probably the highest amongst all indian MBA schools.
  • A few scholarship options available, not very knowledgable in that area,
  • Maybe 10% of the students get scholarships.
  • Majority of the students have student loans. Banks are more than willing to give an XLRI a loan so its easy.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

A society for everything in the oldest B school in India.
Ensemble, Valhalla and Maxi Fair ofcourse make a mark on a national scale.
Internal events keep happening all year round.

XL keeps you busy. And most xlers agree that this is the best college life they could've had.
Jamshedpur is definitely a small town but you rarely get to go out so it's not that big a problem.

I have witnessed other colleges in my internship. And it is very apparent, XL bond is a real thing. XL mafia is real. Xlers stick together.

Life in XL, people in XL, worth the money and the distance. XL will permeate through your skin and make you its own if you let it.
Rest, everything is what you can make of it. Opportunities will be abundant.
