UPPSC Exam Pattern 2024 differs for prelims, mains and personal interviews. The authorities have removed the optional subjects from the UPPSC PCS 2024 Combined State/ Upper Subordinate Services main exam. They have added two new compulsory general studies papers. UPPSC, or Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, conducts the PCS exam to recruit candidates under Group A and Group B officers in the administrative services of the state government.

UPPSC PCS 2024 Exam Pattern Highlights
UPPSC has changed the exam pattern from 2018 by introducing a new exam pattern for UPPSC PCS. This exam pattern is now followed by a few additions. UPPSC PCS exam is conducted in three stages, which is given below.

- UPPSC PCS 2024 Mains Exam
- UPPSC PCS 2024 Personal Interview
Hence, the candidates are expected to follow the new exam pattern for UPPSC PCS 2024 as prescribed.
Since UPPSC exam pattern has changed, below are the new add ons to the exam pattern.
- There will be a 0.33% negative marking in the prelims exam
- UPPSC Main exam will contain 4 GS papers and along with an Essay and General Hindi Paper, candidates can opt for only one optional subject.
- The interview will carry a total of 100 Marks.

UPPSC 2024 Prelims Exam Pattern
UPPSC Prelim exam for both papers will carry a total of 200 marks each. As per the new rules, each wrong answer will carry a negative mark and the type of questions will be objective or MCQs.
