RRB NTPC Result Stages

RRB NTPC result 2023 is given online separately for each stage of the test. RRB NTPC result is calculated using the normalization technique.

RRB NTPC CBT 1 Result

The CBT 1 is a qualifying exam. General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning are the three aspects of this level. The exam has a total score of 100. The normalized CBT 1 score is used to select applicants for CBT 2 based on their merits.

RRB NTPC CBT 2 Result

Candidates for this step are chosen based on their performance in the first stage, which is 20 times the number of category-specific openings. Candidates' scores for this stage are determined out of a possible 120 points. Candidates must obtain the necessary marks to advance to this round.

Candidates who pass this level will be shortlisted for document verification, a typing skill test, and a computer-based aptitude test (depending on the position).

RRB NTPC CBAT Result

Candidates will be shortlisted for this stage based on their performance in CBT 2 for eight times the number of openings of Station Master (SM)/Traffic Assistant (TA) for each of the communities, namely UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and EWS (including ExSM). The test consists of many test batteries, and candidates must qualify for each one.

  • To qualify, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 42 on each test battery.
  • The minimal qualifying marks apply to all candidates, regardless of their SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PWBD/Ex-Servicemen status.
  • The SM/TA merit list is drawn from among the applicants who pass the CBAT, with CBT 2 receiving 70% of the weightage and CBAT receiving 30% of the weightage.

RRB NTPC Result for Typing Skill Test (TST)

Typing Skill Test (TST) is administered for the positions of Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, and Junior Time Keeper. This is a qualifying stage, and the marks received in this test are not contributed to the merit list.

Candidates are called for this round depending on their performance in CBT 2 eight times the number of openings.

RRB NTPC Result for Document Verification

Candidates equal to the number of vacancies are called for document verification based on their performance in CBT 2 solely or performance in both CBT 2 and CBAT/TST (as per the positions).

In addition, candidates representing 50% of the total number of vacancies for various positions are invited for document verification. The appointment of candidates is conditional on passing the Medical Fitness Test.

RRB NTPC Result 2023: Calculation

Candidates' scores in the RRB NTPC test are calculated using the RRBs' prescribed marking scheme. The following formula is used to compute candidate scores:

  • Candidates receive 1 mark for correct answers.
  • 0.25 points are deducted for each wrong answer.
  • After deducting the penalty for incorrect responses, the scores are computed depending on the number of correct answers.

RRB NTPC Normalisation Process

Candidates are shortlisted for various rounds based on their CBT normalised marks. Because CBT is delivered in numerous sessions, the normalization process is followed. The first-stage CBT, second-stage CBT, and CBAT are all normalized. This procedure is used to vary the difficulty level of question papers throughout sessions.

The normalisation process had been updated by RRBs. The exam marks are generated based on the average score of the top 1% of applicants across all shifts. The grades are computed to five decimal places.

RRB NTPC Result 2023: Tie-Breaking Policy

If two candidates receive the same score, the following tie-breaking policy is used:

  • If two or more candidates receive the same marks, the merit is calculated based on age factors, with older candidates receiving better merit.
  • If the ages are the same, the alphabetical order (A to Z) of the names is used to break the tie.

The following are the significant changes notified in relation to the RRB NTPC result 2023:

  • In the event of a candidate empanelment deficiency, the RRB has the right to use candidates further down the merit list if necessary, based on merit and candidate preference.
  • The normalized score of the first stage of CBT was used to select applicants for the CBT 2 exam based on merit.
  • Candidates with the same number of vacancies are summoned for document verification.
