IBPS Clerk exam will be conducted in two phases - Prelims and Mains. It is a Common Written Exam (CWE) and it is a computer-based test (CBT). Candidates should know the IBPS Clerk Exam Syllabus before appearing for the exam. There will be different exam patterns for the prelims exam and the mains exam.
IBPS Clerk 2021 Exam Pattern
All the tests in both the exams are available bilingually (in English & Hindi) except for the English Language Test.
There will be negative marking for wrong answers. One-fourth (or 0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty for wrong answers. There is no penalty for unanswered questions.

Score Normalization: The scores will be normalized to equate the difficulty level of the papers in different slots. You will be required to score a minimum overall cut off in both Prelims and Mains exams and a minimum score in each of the sections.
Final Merit List: Only the score of the Mains examination will be considered for Final Merit Listing. The final score will be scaled to a maximum of 100. Based on the ranking of a candidate in the final list, he or she will be called for further recruitment processes.
IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern
This pattern is exclusively for the preliminary examination of IBPS Clerk 2021. The prelims exam includes English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The question paper of the preliminary exam consists of 100 questions for 100 marks. Duration for the prelims is 60 minutes.
