AAU VET Eligibility Criteria 2023: Age Limit, Qualification

AAU VET Eligibility Criteria 2023 is set by the examination conducting board. AAU VET eligible candidates who are interested in participating in AAU VET 2023 should first confirm that they meet all requirements for applying to take the admission exam. To apply for AAU VET 2023, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirements. Applicants who are interested in appearing for the AAU VET 2023 Exam must understand and fulfil the minimum AAU VET Eligibility Criteria 2023 criteria which are listed below.

AAU VET Eligibility Criteria 2023 Highlights

Educational Qualification: The candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/ Agriculture/ Forestry with a minimum of 50% marks for General/ OBC/ UPS category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ ST/ DAC from a recognized board of education.

Age Limit: A candidate opting for an undergraduate degree programme should be a minimum of 16 years of age as on 1st August 2023 (i.e. must have been born before 01‐08‐2006) for all the programmes other than B.V.Sc & A.H. 

Note: The candidates serving as JRFs/ SRFs/ RAs at AAU are eligible to apply for admission into the postgraduate programmes subject to fulfilment of other eligibility criteria.

AAU VET Eligibility Criteria 2023 criteria according to the courses/programmes which are stated by the Assam Agricultural University is given below. All applicants must go through these eligibility criteria before filling out the AAU VET 2023 Application Form.

AAU VET Eligibility Criteria 2023 For UG Degree Programme

The AAU VET Eligibility Criteria 2023 criteria for the undergraduate programme are mentioned below;

B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons) Horticulture, and B.F.Sc. Degree Programme

  • The candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry, and Agriculture from a recognized Board of Education.
  • The candidates must have secured 50% marks for General/ OBC/UPS category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ ST DAC category candidates in the qualifying examination.

B.Sc (Hons) Sericulture Degree Programme

  • The candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry, and Agriculture or Physics, Chemistry, and Forestry or Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized Board of Education.
  • The candidates must have secured 50% marks for General/ OBC/UPS category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ ST DAC category candidates in the qualifying examination.

B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree Programme 

  • The candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology/ Biotechnology from a recognized Board of Education.
  • The candidates must have secured 50% marks for General/ OBC/UPS category candidates and 47.5% marks for SC/ ST DAC category candidates in the qualifying examination.

B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science Degree Programme

  • The candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry, and Agriculture or Physics, Chemistry, and Home Science or Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized Board of Education.
  • The candidates must have secured 50% marks for General/ OBC/UPS category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ ST DAC category candidates in the qualifying examination.

AAU VET Eligibility Criteria 2023 Criteria For PG Degree Programme

The AAU VET Eligibility Criteria 2023 criteria for the postgraduate programme are mentioned below:

M.Sc. (Agriculture), M.V.Sc., M.Sc. (Community Science) & M.F.Sc. Degree Programme 

  • The candidates must have passed B.Sc. (Agri)/ B.Sc. (Hort.)/ B.Sc. (Agri. Biotech)/ B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture/ Horticulture/ B.Sc.(H.Sc.)/ B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science/ B.F.Sc./ B.Tech (Fishery Science) of 4 years duration/ B.V.Sc & A.H from a recognized university.
  • The candidates must have secured 60% marks for General/ OBC/UPS category candidates and 50% marks for SC/ ST DAC category candidates in the qualifying examination.

M.Sc. (Food Technology) Degree Programme

The candidates should have passed B.Sc., B.Sc. (Agri)/ B.Sc. (Hort)/ B.V.Sc. & A.H./ B.Sc. (Home  Science)/ B.Sc. (Food  Science)/ BE/ B.Sc.(Hons.)  Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Home Science/ B.FSc or other equivalent degrees from a recognized university.

M.Sc. (Agriculture) in Sericulture Degree Programme

  • The candidates must have passed B.Sc Agri/ B.Sc. with Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology preferably honours in Zoology with minimum 45% marks and should have at least 3 years of service experience and must be sponsored by the Govt. of Assam or the Central Silk Board.
  • The candidates must have secured 60% marks for General/ OBC/UPS category candidates and 50% marks for SC/ ST DAC category candidates in the qualifying examination.

MBA (Agriculture Business) Degree Programme 

  • The candidates must have passed B.Sc. (Agri), B.V.Sc. & A.H., BE (Agril. Engineering), B.Sc. (Dairy Science), B.Sc. (Home Science) of four-year duration, B.F.Sc. or B.Sc. (Forestry) (as the case may be), B.Sc. (Hons) Agri/Hort/H.Sc./Forestry/B.Tech (Ag. Engg.) from a recognized university.
  • The candidates must have secured 60% marks for General/ OBC/UPS category candidates and 50% marks for SC/ ST DAC category candidates in the qualifying examination.

M.Sc. (Agriculture) Degree Programme in Biotechnology 

  • The candidates must have passed B.Sc. (Agri)/ B.Sc. (Hort.)/ B.Sc. (Agri. Biotech)/ B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture/ Horticulture/ B.Sc.(H.Sc.)/ B.Sc. (Hons) Community Science/ B.F.Sc./ B.Tech (Fishery Science) of 4 years duration/ B.V.Sc & A.H from a recognized university.
  • The candidates must have secured 60% marks for General/ OBC/UPS category candidates and 50% marks for SC/ ST DAC category candidates in the qualifying examination.

M.V.Sc. Degree Programme in Animal Biotechnology

  • The candidates must have passed B.V.Sc & A.H. from a recognized university.
  • The candidates must have secured 60% marks for General/ OBC/UPS category candidates and 50% marks for SC/ ST DAC category candidates in the qualifying examination.

Note: 

  • If an aspirant fails to fulfil any of these AAU VET Eligibility Criteria 2023 Criteria, his/her candidature will not be considered for AAU VET 2023.
  • All applicants must go through the AAU VET Important Dates 2023 and apply for AAU VET 2023 Exam after fulfilling the eligibility criteria.
