Students’ Aid Fund Scholarship

This Kerala University scholarship aims to assist students who find it difficult to pursue studies due to financial problems. The scholarship is offered to students whose annual family income is less than INR 25,000. Eligible students will receive INR 1000 for UG courses and INR 1500 for PG courses. Regular students pursuing any course in any department or any college of the University are eligible to apply. Students receiving other scholarships and aids are also eligible for this University of Kerala scholarship. Applicants must present an Income Certificate of the working parent from the Village Officer. The last date to apply for the Students’ Aid Fund Scholarship is 30th November of every academic year.

University Merit Scholarship for UG Courses

Kerala University offers merit scholarships for the 3-year BA, B.Sc, and B.Com courses. These INR 2500 per annum scholarships are awarded to 188 students every year. University Merit Scholarships for UG courses are awarded to students based on the percentage of total marks secured in the HSE/ VHSE/ CBSE/ ISC examination. University Merit Scholarship for PG Courses

The merit scholarships of value INR 3000 per annum are offered to 169 students yearly. This Kerala University scholarship for PG students is offered for MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MSW, MCJ, and MBA courses. Students with a First Class Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University will be eligible for the scholarship. The duration of the Kerala University scholarship for PG Courses is 2 years. Students’ Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme (SGPAIS) 

The insurance scheme covers medical expenses due to accidents up to INR 25,000 and death claim up to INR 1,00,000 for Kerala University students. The premium students have to pay is INR 25 per student. Students enrolled in any course at Kerala University are eligible for the scheme.

Documents Required for Reimbursement of Medical Expenses due to Accidents:

• Request from the student at Kerala University
• Medical certificate and the details of treatment from the concerned Medical Officer
• Original bills of treatment countersigned by the Medical Officer
• OP/ IP tickets and Discharge Certificate (if any)
