Library

• The library offers a collection of more than ten lakh books. 
• The university's eight campuses together possess nearly two lakh bound journals, PhD theses, proceedings of conferences, reports, maps, standards, patents, manuscripts, CD-ROMs, etc. 
• The Calcutta University library provides more than seven thousand electronic journals and over two lakh electronic books for students and staff.

Manuscript library: This library was built exclusively to house manuscripts and has collected over 42,000 manuscripts, including 20,000 manuscripts in Sanskrit and over 12,000 manuscripts in Bengali and Tibetan. Some of these manuscripts are written in palm leaves. In addition, Calcutta University has many manuscripts in Arabic and Persian.

Hostel: The university has 17 hostels, out of which 8 hostels are for girls, and 7 hostels are for boys. The Calcutta University hostels are equipped with modern facilities like internet facilities and an infirmary. In addition, the hostel has decent catering facilities and a clean environment.

Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology: It was developed to create a centre of excellence for the students pursuing research in nanotechnology and nanoscience.
