Swanky infrastructure, top recruiting companies, a blend of industry-centric and theoretical curricula, and a focus on students’ overall development define the outlook for TAPMI. What more can a student possibly ask for from a management institution? Perhaps a less strict college environment. Although T. A. Pai Management Institute deems such rules and regulations fit for the college students. But often, students find it gruelling to keep up with it.

TAPMI has a 34 years of legacy attached to its name. It has emerged as one of the best private B-schools in the country. Strict or not, with time, T. A. Pai Management Institute has managed to set forth its dedication towards holistic education.

Industry Focused Curriculum

TAPMI has streamlined its course curriculum to be industry-oriented. As a management institution, such market-centric programmes yield a high rate of employability for the students. From the beginning, students are pushed to think beyond just textbook references. This instils a sense of critical thinking in the students. 

TAPMI also offers short-term Executive Education Programs designed to enhance the skills of the workforce. Upon completion of the courses, students master each domain with finesse. They are thorough with unfamiliar subjects. They develop a clear understanding of the workings of their industry and can communicate effectively. 

Dedicated Faculties

The faculties at T. A. Pai Management Institute are adept at their job. They deliver the desired result. However, students have said on various online portal that few of the faculties need to be student-friendly. Otherwise, the majority of the faculties help the students with their queries.

TAPMI follows a rigorous evaluation process. Every other month, there are tests that have strict marking and pass criteria. Many pupils find it difficult to cope with the rigour. 

Good Research Opprtunity

TAPMI has established a well-built research facility. It has a knowledge centre or library that hosts several crucial books both online and offline. The Finance Laboratory powered by Bloomberg India serves as a crown to the institute. It is installed with 16 Bloomberg terminals and can seat up to 36 people. The setup provides a real-world finance market situation to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

TAPMI has spread its wings and has collaborated with eminent universities and organisations internationally. Such efforts have brought in an exchange of diverse sets of ideas. Some of the collaborations have been carried forward by the following institutions:

Marvellous Infrastructure

T. A. Pai Management Institute’s infrastructure is sticking and boasts impressive state-of-the-art amenities and facilities. As mentioned earlier, it has built a one-of-a-kind finance lab collaborating with Bloomberg India.

All facilities are well maintained routinely and are tended to immediately for any repair work. The college has a canteen that provides. The only attribute that the college has failed to implement properly is sports facilities. Apart from a few sports facilities, there is not much that the students can participate in.

Superior Hostel Facilities

TAPMI offers hostel facilities for both women and men. It has 5 blocks dedicated to students’ accommodation. Only single and double air-conditioned accommodation rooms are available, each with an attached bathroom.

The hostel compound has 24x7 security. The entire premise is safe and secure to live in. The approximate hostel charge is INR 1,55,000. Students can also find good PGs in the vicinity of the college within reasonable distance and prices.

Expensive Program Fees

Although TAPMI has placed itself in the top 20 of the elite B-schools in India, which provides quality education and overall development, the program fees are something that not everyone can afford. 

As with such high fees, a scholarship worth INR 2.4 crores is provided to around 50 students. However, for the rest, they have to bear it on their own. Since T. A. Pai Management Institute is a reputed college, student loans are easily available. 

Exceptional Placements

TAPMI provides exceptional placements. For many a year, it has even recorded a 100% placement. Top recruiters are eager to employ students from T. A. Pai Management Institute, given their all-round focus on education. Students are given career counselling before the placement begins.

There are corporate trainings, workshops, seminars, etc., that are conducted to prepare the students for the placements. These workshops include the interactions between students and industry leaders. It helps the students to understand the current market trends and conditions.

TAPMI also prepares the students for summer internships. The stipend offered is competitive. The internship helps the students to get their first taste of real-world work experience. It prepares them for the highly competitive road ahead. The highest CTC offered was INR 24.8 LPA, while the average CTC offered was INR 14.6 LPA. 

Engaging and Jovial Campus Life

T. A. Pai Management Institute offers an engaging campus life with various events organised routinely. There are several clubs where the students can participate. There are annual college festivals, management events, and more that are held on the campus. Various competitions, talks, and cultural events are arranged for the students to make it eventful.

On leisure time, students can visit several nearby tourist places. They can also visit the town for hand out at various local joints. Since Manipal previously was not a cosmopolitan city, not ample places can be found to relax. 

Diversity and Inclusion

TAPMI admits international students from various countries. Apart from this, students from all over the country take admission. However, because of the steep course fees, many of the students belonging to the socially and economically disadvantaged sections are reluctant or do not take admission.

The female-student ratio on campus is not available. However, no policies as such are in action to ensure a balance between male and female students ratio.

Strict Rules and Regulations

The college authorities have strict rules and regulations in place for any improper or disrespectful behaviour from the students. It is also stringent about academic rules to maintain a standard. 

Students are bound by the dress code prescribed by the administration. They have to wear business or smart casuals to the campus. Students must wear formal dress codes for class presentations. They must not wear Trackpants, Nightwear, Beachwear, Ripped Jeans, Bathroom Slippers etc. on campus.

Another example of how strict the campus is can be found in the fact that any student found using cellular phones in the classroom will be imposed a penalty of INR 5000. 

Is TAPMI Worth it?

For any student who can afford the expensive fees, TAPMI offers one of the best experiences as a management college. It has an overall holistic outlook for academics and personal development. Offers 100% placements and engaging campus life.

For sports-enthusiastic students who wish to carry their sports activities with equal finesse as their academics, TAPMI has a downside. Not many sports facilities, apart from the basic ones, are available on campus.
