Swami Rama Himalayan University, Himalayan Institute of Medical Science, Dehradun was founded in 2013. It is the first private medical college in the state and the first to introduce Ph.D. in medical studies. HIMS provides a unique opportunity for students to learn the art of clinical medicine with the patients. This college have the best-qualified teaching faculty from the college of India and abroad. This aims to create medical professionals who are ready to take responsibility of health care of the society.

HIMS course includes undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and doctoral programs. This college is affiliated to the Medical Council of India and the Indian Nursing Council. HIMS is accredited to NABL. This college is also approved the medical education for the 18 medical colleges.
