Kasturbai Walchand College, Sangli, Popularly known as KWC, was established in 1960 with the objective to cater to higher education to the students from Sangli city and the villages in the vicinity. It is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, and is one of the most prestigious institutions for higher education in Sangli. It is Jain Minority Institute Committed to providing value-based education and its motto is based on three basic principles of Jain Philosophy, “Sammyak Darshan, Sammayak Dnyan, Sammayak Charitrya” which aims at empowerment and overall development of the students through quality education

KWC Admission 2024

The college offers 18 undergraduate courses and 12 post-graduate programs. The college also runs five career-oriented courses to provide job opportunities to the students. The College also runs UGC sponsored career-oriented course “Dance and classical Music” from the last three years. The college has been imparting quality education through different streams like Arts, Science, Commerce, B.C.S., and Biotechnology having Jr. Wing, Sr. Wing, P.G. Centre, and Ph.D. Centre

KWC UG Admission 2024

The college offers various UG courses with various streams. The courses are B.Sc, BCS, BA. Due to these facilities, the majority of the B.Sc.III (All subjects including Biotech) 200 students can undertake the project work. The Scientific Laboratories of Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Botany, Zoology, Electronics, Microbiology & Stat are upgraded to the level of conducting Research work.

KWC UG Eligibility

The UG courses have a duration of three years. The eligibility for these courses is the candidate should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board

The college also offers PG courses. The PG courses available in this college are M.A and M.Sc. Various streams are available in these courses. The specializations in MA are Economics, English, Hindi, History, Marathi, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology. The specializations in M.Sc are Biotechnology, Computer Science
