Provision is made to create a platform on which to polish the hospitality skills of the students by means of a training restaurant at the attached hotel. Students receive hands-on, on-the-job training in food & beverage service at the restaurant, which also has a mock bar.
In the Front Office section the students are trained to receive and assign rooms to the guest. They are also trained to attend to telephone calls and complaints of guests. The communication skills of the students are enhanced, in the process.
The class rooms are equipped with modern audio-visual equipment, LCD projector, slides projector for the use of the faculty and students in order to facilitate the process of imparting and receiving information on the various subjects.
House Keeping Lab
The House Keeping Lab attached to a model guest room gives ample scope through its modern infrastructure to train the students in the maintenance and upkeep of hotel guest rooms.
Food and Beverage Production Lab
Students are trained in culinary skills, turning them into experts in the preparation of various cuisines, both Indian and International. The Food & Beverage Production Lab is provided with all the necessary equipment and accessories that aid in getting the trainees familiarized with the art of cooking and presentation.
Technological advancement has fine-tuned the profession so as to make way for enhanced service in the field of Hospitality Science. Students are trained in the technical aspects of the subjects in the well-equipped computer laboratory.
The college has acquired valuable books on Hotel Management and allied subjects and these are made available for use in the college library. The periodicals and journals on Hotel Management are placed in the reading room. Extensive library service together with systematic use of visual aids support students to fulfil the requirements of the course.
ZAIKA-the popular annual multi-cuisine food festival is conducted by the college to provide the students an opportunity to exhibit their skills. An extravagant culinary display is presented by the students, making this a much-awaited event.
The college has its owns a fleet of 3 buses to ensure comfortable transportation for its students to enable them to pursue the course activities with the least hassle.
The college provides adequate facilities for sporting activities that are necessary to encourage the all-round development of the students. Infrastructure and equipment for outdoor sports such as cricket and basketball as well as indoor games such as table-tennis and badminton are made available so that students are able to develop their interests.
Provision has also been made for swimming and health club facilities at concessional rates.
Amenities that take care of the comfort of the inmates is provided in the spacious hostel that is located in the college campus. Provisions have been made for different buildings to accommodate male and female residents seperately. A hygienic Hostel Mess that caters to the nutritional requirements of the students is a part of the residential facilities.
Various occasions of celebration such as College Annual Day, Freshers Day, Tourism Day, as well as various religious and regional festivals are celebrated in the college. Lectures by experts in the field are arranged on relevant occasions. Stage shows and other entertainment forums are provided to complement academics. Inter-college festivals and competitions are a part of the extra-curricular activities provided by the college.
