Shimla College of Education managed by Shimla Educational Society & Trust, has been one of the best B.Ed. Colleges in Himachal Pradesh. It is situated on NH-22, at Shimla Bye Pass Sanjauli in truly commanding site of famousShimlaCity. The site presents a unique picturesquemountain view, abundant natural beauty and bliss. Since situated onNational Highway, adequate transport facilities are available.

The college was established in the year 2007 to meet out the need of teachers in present & for the coming time. The teacher education programme of the college is designed to bring out physical, intellectual, emotional and ethical integration of an individual with a view to develop a complete person. The core courses on culture education, moral and religious education, school management imparted through scientific methodology, general knowledge, cultural affairs, rural development, social services, co-curricular activities, literacy activities, games and supports enable the college to realize its objective of imparting value based education which can be only be imparted successfully if it can be brought into practice in all aspects of campus life.

The mission of evolving a COMPLETE PERSON is supported by major objectives of achieving academic strength, moral and spiritual values with social sensibilities. The college is running under the control of three regulatory bodies viz NCTE,HimachalPradeshUniversityand HP Govt. These bodies have full control over the functions of college. The college follows all the rules and regulations laid down by the NCTE from time to time. The college is also bound to follow the rules and regulation ofHimachalPradeshUniversityin terms of admission, examination and award of certificate and degree. The Government of Himachal Pradesh exercises its control over the colleges by means of regulating the fee and other charges to be charged from the students.

Admission Procedure
The College is duly recognised by the NCTE and Govt. of Himachal Pradesh for 100 Seats in admission to B.Ed. Course. The division of seats for different streams as approved by the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh is as under:-

Any student interested in seeking admission, should buy a copy of College Prospectus cum-Admission Form from the college office. After going through the prospectus and admission form, he/she should follow the steps given below:

Step-1:Fill in the application form legibly in your own handwriting. Attach necessary documents with admission form.
Step-2:Bring your father/guardian along and present yourself before the Admission Committee to get the form checked and recommended.
Step-3:Present yourself before scrutiny committee.
Step-4:Go to the Principal's office and present yourself before the Principal for his/her final approval.
Step-5:If the Principal approves your admission, go to fee clerk and deposit the fee on the same date.

1. Migration Certificate in original is to be submitted by all the candidates migrating from outside Himachal Pradesh. In case the eligibility of such candidates is doubtful, he/she can be asked to bring equivalent certificate or eligibility certificate for admission to the desired class.

2. SC/ST/OBC/IRDP candidates must attach an attested copy of their category certificate and IRDP candidates should attach certificate showing the profession of the father and income from all sources. The original certificate issued by Magistrate Class-I or Tehsildar must be shown at the time of admission.

3. Bonafide Himachali Certificate issued by Magistrate Class-I or Tehsildar must be shown at the time of admission.

Eligibility Conditions For Admission
The College is imparting training in B.Ed. to all the three faculties of Science (Medical), Science (Non-Medical) and Commerce and Humanities. The students may seek admission in any of the three streams, provided they fulfil the following minimum eligibility conditions.
Minimum Eligibility Conditions for Admission to B.Ed.

(a) A bachelor's or master degrees (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.)or (M.A./M.Sc./M.Com.) with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized University in India. For SC/ST candidates marks should be 45% at graduation or post graduation level.

(b) A candidate should not be above 26 years (General category boy candidate)and 28 years (General category girls candidates) SC/ST candidate should not be above 29 years. The cut of date for determining the age shall be 1st July of the year in which the candidate is seeking admission to the B.Ed. course.

The Shimla College of Education has possess 4016 Sq. Mtr. Of exclusive well demarked land for the intake of 100 students and has about 3500 Sq. Mtr. Built up area. The College has the following infrastructural facilities:
