National School of Drama is an autonomous theatre training institute situated at New Delhi, which was established in 1959. The institution is recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. NSD, Delhi promotes three-year full-time diploma courses in dramatic arts. National School of Drama also provides Extension Programmes where NSD faculty and alumni conduct workshops in various parts of the country. It also has two performing wings which are Repertory Company and Theatre-in-Education Company.

NSD Delhi is one of the well known theatre training institutes in the world. It offers various courses in Dramatic arts like Modern Indian Drama, Classical Indian Drama, Aesthetics and World Drama. Application form are submitted online through the official website, nsd.gov.in or offline. Based on the past experience of the candidate in acting and theatre , NSD Admission 2022 is allocated. A Candidate who holds a Bachelor’s degree in any field can also apply.

Diploma [Dramatic Arts] Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates should be graduate in any subject from a recognized University in India and abroad.
• They should have a working knowledge of Hindi and English.
• Candidates should have participated in at least 6 theatre productions.
• Aspirants should be between the ages of 20 and 30 years of age. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST candidates only.

NSD, Delhi, offers scholarships to the students to ensure that they can pursue their education without any hurdles. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the college to avail of the scholarships. More details regarding the NSD Delhi scholarship are mentioned below.

• Selected candidates receive a monthly scholarship of Rs. 3000.
• A student who receives a scholarship needs to sign an Rs. 108,000/- bond stating that if they wish to stop training before the conclusion of three years or are forced to stop due to disciplinary reasons, they must return all money given to them before such discontinuation.
