LPU Admission 2026: Dates, Eligibility, & Application Process

LPU admission 2026 is ongoing. With more than 150 programs in more than 40 subjects, LPU is one of the most prominent private universities in the country.  LPU admission to these courses is through valid scores from LPUNEST, which is conducted every year for most of the subjects. However, for admission, LPU also accepts scores from national entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, CMAT, NMAT, CUET, and JEE Main. 

Lovely Professional University offers certificates, diplomas, and graduate and postgraduate courses to its students. LPU also accepts international students through its credit transfer program for certain classes. Students who are unable to attend classes regularly can opt for distance learning or online courses at LPU.

For its distance learning courses, LPU provides study material, and the admission process is direct. The admission process will soon be announced for the upcoming session. At the same time, students can opt for online classes with 8-10 hours of live classes every week. Students also get recorded classes and study material from the university.  LPU adheres to the state government reservation policy for admission of students of different categories.

In addition, LPU offers management programs like PGP MBA (Triple Certification), Masters in Sports Business Management (Twinning Program), and PGDM. Apart from this, the institute also offers an MBA (International Program) in specializations like marketing management, HR, project management, finance, business analytics, and so on. The seat intake for the PGP MBA (Triple Certification) is 180. Also, around 70 seats are allotted for MBA (International Program) and Masters in Sports Business Management (Twinning Program) respectively.

LPU UG Admission 2026

Lovely Professional University Jalandhar offers admission to several UG-level courses. Candidates applying for the UG courses must meet the LPU eligibility criteria for the respective course. The courses, eligibility, and selection criteria of the LPU UG admission 2026 are tabulated below.

LPU B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

The LPU B.Tech eligibility criteria remain the same for all the specializations offered. 

• Applicants must have scored an aggregate of 60% in 10+2 with Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and English being the compulsory subjects. 
• Students must also have the relevant subjects to the specialization as their compulsory subjects. For example, For B.Tech in Biotechnology, Food Technology and Biomedical, biotechnology or biochemistry is the compulsory subject. 
•  5% relaxation is offered to North-East states and Sikkim candidates or Defence Personnel and their Dependents or Wards of Kashmiri Migrants
• Students who have not studied English as a primary subject are offered relaxation if they have appeared for a qualifying exam in English. 
• Applicants must have a valid score of JEE Main or CUET. Applicants without a JEE Main score will appear for LPUNEST.

LPU PG Admission 2026

LPU admission 2026 will be granted for several PG-level courses. Candidates seeking admission to PG courses must meet the LPU eligibility criteria for the respective course. The LPU courses, eligibility, and selection criteria of the LPU PG admission 2026 are tabulated below.

LPU MBA Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants interested in the LPU MBA must fulfill the eligibility criteria given below:
• Interested students must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate in their graduation. 
• Applicants must have a valid score in any one of the national managerial entrance examinations such as CAT, MAT, CMAT, or NMAT. 
• Those without these scores must appear for LPUNEST

LPU PhD Admission 2026

Lovely Professional University offers admission to PhD courses. Candidates must meet the LPU eligibility criteria to pursue PhD in their desired domain. The total tuition fee of the PhD program comes up to INR 7,20,000. LPU admission criteria, tuition fee, and selection criteria for PhD courses are given below.

• Eligibility: Master's degree with at least 55 percent (50 percent for reserved category) or be an ICAI member.

LPUNEST 2026

LPUNEST is a national-level Entrance and Scholarship Test for admission to various programs at Lovely Professional University. This test forms the basis of eligibility and/ or scholarship tests for different programs in the university. The university plans to award scholarships worth INR 9.52 Lakhs through LPUNEST.

LPUNEST has been a gateway to a world of opportunities, with over 1 lakh students participating last year alone for admission into more than 150 diverse programs. With 300+ test centres across India and 8000+ scholarships awarded based on LPUNEST performance, the test provides the students with a unique chance to move towards a brighter future.

The application form for LPU will be in a format that can be processed by an Optical Mark Reader (OMR). Application fee, once paid, cannot be refunded.The  LPUNEST kit can be obtained online from the LPU official website or offline by visiting the LPU campus premises.

How to apply for LPUNEST

The following steps need to be followed for applying to LPUNEST through both online and offline mode.

Steps for Online Mode

• The candidates need to visit admissions.lpu.in and register with basic details like name, phone number, email ID and so on.
• The application form details like Aadhar card number, address details and qualification details need to be filled by the applicant.
• Applicant needs to book the slot (preferred venue (if applicable), date and time as per their choice) to appear in the LPUNEST Exam.
• Then, they must pay the LPUNEST kit fee through online banking/credit card/debit card / UPI.
• They can also download the hall ticket from the portal.

Application Fee:

• The Soft copy of the LPUNEST Kit is for INR 1000 (for Boys and Girls).
• The printed LPUNEST Kit is for INR 1500 (for Boys and Girls).

Steps for Offline Mode

For the Offline mode, the applicants can acquire the LPUNEST Kit from the university campus by paying cash. The cost for the application form of the LPUNEST kit is INR 1,000 for both girls and boys. Once the applicant has obtained the LPUNEST Kit, the application form can be submitted by filling in the application form and send it to the university.

LPU Admission Process 2026

LPU accepts applications for UG, PG, PhD, and Diploma courses. Once the LPU eligibility criteria are fulfilled, candidates must appear for the LPU entrance exams, such as LPUNEST, JEE Main, CAT, MAT, NMAT, NATA, XAT, CMAT, etc. 

The steps to apply for several LPU courses are given below:

Step 1: Entrance Exam

• Aspiring students must appear for the concerned entrance exam. For example, applicants interested in B.Tech must appear for JEE Main, and similarly, applicants interested in MBA can appear for CAT, MAT, NMAT, etc. 
• In the absence of valid scores from different national entrance exams for different courses, applicants can appear for the university's LPUNEST. 
• However, for the coming session, LPUNEST has been removed from the LPU programs like B.Sc [Airlines, Tourism, and Hospitality; etc.], BBA [Tourism and Hospitality, etc.], BTTM, BHMCT, and BHMCT. The admission brochure provides more information. 

Step 2: Registration on the Website

• Applicants must register as new users on the LPU admission portal, LPUADMIT, with contact information such as email ID, phone number, etc. 
• Applicants can generate a login ID and password. 
• Then applicants must log in again using these details. The candidate must set the password at the time of registration, and the email address used will serve as the portal's login.

Step 3: Fill in the application form and Choose your course.

• Applicants can choose a course of their choice based on the eligibility criteria and their qualifications. 
• Fill in the entrance exam scores, if applicable. 

Step 4: Apply for a Scholarship

• Applicants must go through the admission brochure and should consider whether they are eligible to apply for the scholarship. 
• If applying for it, applicants must attach the required documents. 

Step 5: LPUNEST

• Applicants with valid entrance exam scores must select a slot for LPUNEST in the city of their choice.
• In case the course does not require LPUNEST, this step will not appear for the applicant. 
• The result of LPUNEST is available within 24 hours. Applicants will then receive information regarding the admission process.

Step 6: Shortlisting

• Selected students are then shortlisted based on their LPUNEST scores. 
• Those who have applied for the scholarship will also get the result of the amount of fee waivered, if any. 

Step 7: Online Counselling

• For a few courses, applicants would be required to attend online counselling based on their merit position. 
• During this, they will be allotted the subject specializations based on merit and seat availability. 
• For other courses, applicants will face online interviews.

Step 8: Final list and Admission Process

• The final list of applicants is released, and they are invited to pay the admission fee to book their seats. 

Steps to Apply for LPU Admission

Given below are the steps to apply successfully for the Lovely Professional University admission:

• Step 1: Visit the LPU admission portal at admissions.lpu.in and select "Apply Now" for LPU apply option.
• Step 2: Fill the LPU admission form with personal details, upload Class 10/12 marksheets.
• Step 3: Pay the INR 1,000 application fee via net banking or card.
• Step 4: Schedule LPUNEST slot—available monthly from December 2025.
• Step 5: Receive provisional LPU admit letter upon merit list clearance.

Documents Required for LPU Admission

The scanned copies of the following documents are required at the time of submitting the Lovely Professional University application form:

• Passport-size photograph of the candidate and parents (Father and Mother)
• Matriculation Certificate (if applicable)
• Eligibility qualification certificate (depending on program) including previous qualifications (Eligibility qualification may be submitted later on in case the final result has not been declared to date
• Gap affidavit (If applicable -Self)
• Aadhaar card of the candidate and parents.
• Category certificate (if applicable, for example, if claiming eligibility relaxation based on category)
• Income affidavit of parents (Self in case of Ph.D.)
