Kumaran Institute of Technology (KIT) is located in Thiruvalluir District, Chennai. The Institute is approved by AICTE and Affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. It was established in 2012 by Sri Kumaran Educational and Charitable Trust. The Institute offers undergraduate courses in Engineering. KIT aims to provide quality education, enabling young aspirants to take on an increasingly competitive world. Academic programs offered by the Institute have been designed to offer distinct aspects of intellectual growth and development.

The Institution is equipped with many facilities such as Library, Sports Complex, separate hostels for boys and girls,  subjective laboratories, etc. It offers courses in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Civil, etc. The library is fully computerized and is equipped with modern facilities and resources. KIT has a dedicated Training and Placement cell with the mission to train the students on industry needs and provide the best of opportunities available in India and abroad for its students. IT provide career guidance and placement opportunities to 100% of students studying in KIT. The cell starts functioning from the beginning of the program, in the first year it trained students in Communication Skills, Soft Skills and Personality Development, from the second year onwards they focus on Presentation Skills, Resume Writing, Aptitude Training, Interview Techniques, conduct GD and Mock Interviews. Almost, all the eligible students of the Institute have been placed in reputed companies with some of them having more than one offer.

Students who scored good grades in their HSC and SSC examinations and are from the science stream from a recognized board are eligible to take admission to KIT. For admissions, students should be eligible according to the eligibility criteria defined by them.
