Post-Graduate Diploma in Management in IMI, Kolkata:

IMI Kolkata offers a two-year, full-time PGDM (Post-Graduate Diploma in Management) program, which is designed to prepare students for careers in corporate across all functional areas. The program inculcates a strong sense of business fundamentals along with ethical values.

AICTE approved and equivalent to MBA as per the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accredits the PGDM Programme. IMI Kolkata has been ranked 45th among Business Schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India in 2019. The program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) The Programme.

Eligibility criteria for IMI, Kolkata:

• Educational Qualification: 

  The Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after the completion of higher secondary schooling under the 10+2 system or equivalent.

  Candidates appearing in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree or equivalent are also eligible, provided they furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility criteria by September 30, 2020, failing which the candidates may be asked to withdraw from the program.

  Minimum 50% marks in Class X, XII, and Graduation.
• Entrance Exam:

  The qualifying exams for IMI Kolkata’s application are for CAT, XAT, OR GMAT.

  Foreign Candidates require a valid score of GMAT/English Proficiency Test/IMI Kolkata's Aptitude Test. Score sheets are to be submitted to the Admission Office for verification at the time of personal interview.     

Admission Process for PGDM in IMI, Kolkata:

• There is one Common 'Application Form' for all campuses
• An applicant desirous of applying only to the PGDM program at IMI-Kolkata will be required to pay Rs. 1000/- (Additional 18% GST will be applicable)- by clicking on the “Apply Now” button under IMI-Kolkata Campus option provided at http://admission.imi.edu
• An applicant desirous of applying to the PGDM program at IMI-Kolkata in addition to IMI Delhi programs will be required to pay the common application fee of Rs. 2200/- (Additional 18% GST will be applicable)  only. In this case, the candidate needs to indicate appropriate interest for the PGDM program of IMI-Kolkata by ticking ‘√’ on IMI-Kolkata (box) as an option provided in the IMI Delhi application form under Programme Preference head.

Scholarships offered:

A. Interim Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Performance:

IMI-Kolkata offers interim scholarship not exceeding 1 Lakh in the two-year period to a maximum of 3 students per batch enrolled in the Institute on the basis of their outstanding academic performance on the completion of their first year and financial considerations.

B. Scholarship for Economically Weaker Section:

All students whose total family income is less than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum shall be eligible for Scholarship under Economically Weaker Section.

Applications for Tuition Fee Waiver under Economically Weaker Section shall be invited from the students after they have been admitted into the programs.

Any student joining PGDM 2020-22 batch who is desirous of claiming the tuition waiver should apply to the admissions office (admission-imik@rp-sg.in) before the due date as will be intimated by the institute, with a copy of the income tax returns, PAN number, Counsellor’s recommendation or any other document relevant for the financial year 2019-20.

Requests received after the due date shall not be processed. Please note that all Applications for a Tuition fee waiver (under economically weaker section) shall be collected and processed at one time for all such applicants.

C. Tuition fee waiver for meritorious students

• Scholarship criteria for PGDM Batch 2020 – 22 are as under:

     100% Tuition Fee Waiver ( Academic criteria )

• CAT/XAT= 85-100 percentile
• GMAT = 750 and above
• X = 90-100%
• XII = 85-100%
• Graduation = 75-100%

Terms & Conditions - Candidate needs to maintain a minimum CGPA of 8 in the first year of PGDM 2020-22 to continue the scholarship for the second year. In case he/she is unable to maintain the required CGPA, the scholarship will stand canceled and Original Fee Structure will be applicable for him/her.

40% Tuition Fee Waiver (Academic Criteria)

• CAT/XAT=80-84.99 percentile
• GMAT = 650 and above
• X = 80-89.99%
• XII = 80-84.99%
• Graduation = 70-74.99% 

40% Tuition Fee Waiver (Extra Curricular-Sports)

• Sports = Represented State or National level
• CAT/XAT= 65- 100 percentile
• GMAT = 600 and above
• X = 75-100%
• XII = 75 - 100 %
• Graduation = 60- 100 %

Terms & Conditions - Candidate needs to maintain a minimum CGPA of 7 in the first year of PGDM 2020-22 to continue the scholarship for the second year. In case he/she is unable to maintain the required CGPA, the scholarship will stand canceled and Original Fee Structure will be applicable for him/her. 

D. Other Students Benefits

• Students with remarkable achievements in the field of sport, art, and culture will be specially considered for Admission 2020 - 22. The admission criteria for the candidate under this scheme may be relaxed at the discretion of the IMI-Kolkata Admissions Committee. Prior intimation from students who wish to apply under this scheme is solicited.
• IMI-Kolkata encourages SC/ST/OBC/physically challenged students to apply. Also, 5% relaxation to be given on the CAT percentile for SC/ST/OBC category.
