The college presently offers an Undergraduate course of B.Tech and B.Des with several specializations. Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program in ten different disciplines.

Students seeking admission after Higher Secondary Examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, or its equivalent are admitted through an Entrance Examination JEE. At first round for B.Des counselling, the seats are provisionally allotted to the candidates based on their choices, the seat available as per the seat matrix and their UCEED ranks. Digital copies of Certificates are verified and if found in order, a candidate gets the seat allotment letter, with a provision to either freeze or float. The candidates accept the seats provisionally allotted by paying INR 60,000 through a common online payment portal. The second round is Document verification & Registration the students are admitted and will report at IIT Hyderabad.

All candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology from All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent.
IITH has a joint PhD program with Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. All first-year PhD students are eligible for admission to the joint PhD program. However, the selection is based on faculty recommendation and performance in the interview.
Under this program, the selected students get to spend one year at SUT for doing research. The selected students will be jointly guided by an IITH faculty member and a SUT faculty.

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad PhD. Admission - Eligibility, Fees, and Admission Criteria
As per the norms, minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the PhD program candidates must have passed Master’s Degree program in any discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ ST candidates) in concerned discipline from a recognized University.
In order to get admission in IIT Hyderabad, the applicants must follow JosAA counselling. Where candidates are allotted seats in seven rounds of JoSAA counselling 2021. This is based on the cutoff of the institute and the candidate's preference of courses and colleges.
The aspirants seeking admission at Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad 2021 for undergraduate programmes must appear for JEE Advanced and also apply through its official portal. Similarly, candidates willing to pursue an M.Tech degree are required to appear for GATE and also apply for admission through its official website. Whereas, to get admission for BDes and MDes programmes, the candidates are shortlisted for DAT based on their performance in UCEED and CEED respectively. And for the MSc programme, candidates are required to qualify IIT JAM. Candidates with a GATE score are offered direct admission to PhD programmes. However, if a candidate has not appeared for GATE, IITH conducts its own entrance exam to admit students to PhD.
