Eligibility criteria at Indian Statistical Institute, [ISI] Bangalore

Eligibility criteria for BA {Hons.}:

  • The candidate must have successfully completed of Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects.

Eligibility criteria for MA:

  • The candidate must have a 3-year Bachelor’s degree.or (ii) BE/B. Tech. degree with Mathematics as a subject, or (iii) B. Stat. degree from ISI.
  • The candidate may hold a BE/B. Tech. degree with Mathematics as a subject
  • The candidate may have B. Stat. degree from ISI.

Eligibility criteria for M.Lib.I.Sc:

  • The candidate may hold a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech:

  • The candidate may Master's degree in Statistics
  • The candidate may have a Master's degree in Mathematics with Statistics as subjects
  • The candidate may have a BE/B. Tech. degree or any other qualification considered (such as AMIE)
  • The candidate must have studied Physics and Chemistry at (10+2) level.

 


 

Application Process at Indian Statistical Institute, [ISI] Bangalore

Application Process for BA {Hons.}, MA, M.Lib.I.Sc, M.Tech:

  • Candidates in India can apply only ON-LINE through the official website http://www.isical.ac.in/~admission/.
  • The Admission Test is conducted at various centres all over India.
  • Applicants should read carefully the Prospectus and the instructions given in the website before filling in the application form.
  • An applicant must have access to the Internet, an email account, acrobat reader and need to have a digital copy of his/her photo and signature in appropriate format and size (see Prospectus).

Application Fee:

  • 700.00 Rupees for all applicants in the General category.
  • 350.00 Rupees for SC/ST/OBC/ Differently Abled candidates for all programmes.
  • Incomplete/Improper Application Forms will be rejected

  • Selection of candidates is based on merit as judged by their performance in written tests and interviews conducted by the Institute.
  • Past academic record may also be taken into consideration.

Note:

  • Candidates selected for Junior Research Fellowships may be asked to join at a place other than the one opted for, if necessary.
  • Due consideration is given to SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled candidates for all programmes.
  • Detailed procedures for selection of the candidates who have been offered Junior Research Fellowships by the CSIR/NBHM are available in the prospectus.
  • Limited hostel facilities are available.
