Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship

These scholarships are awarded from the Institute funds. The Institute awards scholarships on the basis of merit-cum-means to all eligible students The rules and regulations of IIT Kharagpur merit scholarships are as follows –

• All students admitted to any of the courses offered by IIT Kharagpur, except the students belonging to SC and ST (who are eligible for Post Matric Scholarship of their respective State Governments), shall be eligible for the award of the Merit-Cum-Means (MCM) scholarship.
• These scholarships will be awarded to not more than 25% of the students admitted each year to the Undergraduate and Dual Degree courses of IIT Kharagpur.
• For subsequent renewals, the student’s performance in the two consecutive semesters of the preceding session, i.e. GPA, as updated after the supplementary/summer quarter examination, must not be lower than 7.00. Students will eligible for Merit-cum-Means (MCM) and other Institute Scholarships even if EAA is not completed.
• Apart from the above, IIT Kharagpur provides partial financial assistance to students enrolled in dual degree programmes and M.Sc programmes.
