HICAS, Coimbatore, was established in 1998 it is a private college run by the Hindustan Educational and Charitable Trusts. NAAC has accredited this college with A ++ grade and NBA; it is affiliated to Bharathiar University. UG, PG and PhD programs HICAS facilitates over 50 courses in different disciplines of Arts & Humanities, Science, and Commerce & Management streams. India Today ranks the college 92 for BA, 104 for BCom and 109 for BSc in 2023. It ranks 83rd in the BCA course also. HICAS is an ISO 9001; 2008 certified institution that has MBA and BSc as its core programs..

The admission for the HICAS in 2024 works on the merit as well as entrance basis of the students. For the courses like MBA, MCA and PhD the admission is given depending on the performance in an entrance exam. In other courses, candidates are admitted as per their performance on the previous qualifying test of their choice. HICAS provides an online application form together with an offline form. Hindustan College of Arts and Science (HICAS), Coimbatore, has always encouraged corporate liaison for developing corporate ties with organizations by partnering with them for placements for the students. The different training services common in the college include career guidance and placement, seminars, factory tours, interview practice, and training opportunities. Over the past five years, the HICAS graduation success rate is a staggering ninety percent among students.

Hindustan College of Arts and Science Scholarships

Hindustan College of Arts and Science (HICAS) provides the necessary scholarships that every student could need. These are Government Scholarships SC/ST & BC/MBC for students of a specific income group – Central Sector scheme for those with more than 80% marks in HSC. Other scholarships are Merit scholarship to the Municipal school toppers of HSC, Chief Minister Farmers Security Scheme for the Farmer wards and Tamil Nadu Educational Trust scholarship to the students who secured 60% marks in HSC examination and parents whose annual income is less than Rs. 50,000/- Jahren Also, the college provides scholarships for the students of minority and physically challenged category called Minority Scholarships and Physically Challenged Scholarships respectively.

According to HCAS-GK rankings by 2024, the college reached the following rankings for different streams. India Today ranked the college 98 in overall and its Arts program was ranked 94 out of 186 according to the survey conducted across the country. The Commerce program was ranked at 118 from 229 and the Computer Applications at 70 out of 167. In Science, HCAS was at134 and in social work it was at 46 out of 64. The BBA/BMS program was ranked 120 in India out of 211. HCAS has secured the rank of 49 out of 69 for its Hotel Management program in India, and just to mention it performs the third best in Chennai according to The Week.
