Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University - B.Optom Course:

Bachelor of Optometry [B.Optom] course is an undergraduate course offered by BVDU. B.Optom is a professional undergraduate course that helps an aspirant become knowledgable in the field of Optometry.

Why Study B.Optom in BVDU?

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Medical College, School of Optometry Established in July 1998, the School of Optometry has been constituted under the Faculty of General Surgery and is a part of Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College, Pune. In August 2000, the school was the first Institute in India to get affiliate membership of the World Council of Optometry. Many students from Canada, Kenya, Tanzania, Iran, Nepal, and Sri Lanka have been admitted to Optometry.

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria are as follows:

• Candidates should have completed 10+2 or equivalent in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology or mathematics and passed in English at least should have maintained a minimum 45% aggregate of marks from the recognized board
• The candidates who belong to SC/ST category should have completed 10+2 or equivalent in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology or mathematics and passed in English at least should have maintained a minimum 40% aggregate of marks from the recognized board
• Candidates should have qualified in the ABO-CET entrance test conducted by the university

Admission Process:

The admission process is as follows:

1. Candidates have to fill out the application form on the official site choosing B.Optom Course.
2. Screening Process of the applications will be done from the university
3. Shortlisted Students will get an invite from BVDU for counseling and interview for some courses.
4. Students are admitted to the B.Optom course on the merit basis obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
