MBA/PGDM Eligibility Criteria for KTU

MBA Regular Eligibility

Seat: 120

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility for Regular MBA Admissions:

  • Candidates seeking admission who have been awarded or qualified for the award of  bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Business Administration with 50% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply for admission at KTU.
  • Or those candidates are also eligible to apply for admission who have obtained their Bachelor’s degre in Arts / Science / Commerce with 50% marks in aggregate. For SC/ST students a pass in bachelors degree is sufficient for eligibility at KTU.

MBA (Part time) Programme at KTU

Seats:

  • Total seats for MBA evening programme is 30 for eligible candidates seeking admission at KTU.
  • Two seats are reserved for eligible candidates deputed by Kerala Government.
  • 3 seats are reserved for SC/ST students seeking admission at KTU.

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility for Part-Time MBA at KTU:

  • Candidates seeking admission must have passed the bachelor\'s degree examination with minimum of 50% aggregate to be eligible for admission.
  • A minimum of two years of full time work experience after acquiring the bachelor’s degree is required for eligible candidates seeking admission at KTU.
  • Eligible candidates should have attained the minimum of twenty five years of age as on 1st January 2016 to be eligible for admission at KTU.

MBA/PGDM Application Process For Admission

  • Eligible applicants looking for admission in MBA programmes can obtain the application form through post by sending a Demand Draft of INR 600 (INR 500 in person) drawn in favor of ‘CET School of Management’ payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
  • Eligible applicants seeking admission at KTU can also download the application form from the official website of KTU.

Selection Process for Admission at KTU

MBA/PGDM Admission Process

  • Eligible candidates seeking admission at KTU for the MBA programme must have valid score in the Common Management Aptitude Test CMAT 2021 CAT 2021 MAT 2021 as decided by the Government of Kerala to be eligible.
  • Shortlisted students on the basis of CMAT score will be called for Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI). The bifurcation of weightage of different admission factors for MBA programme is as folows:

Admission Eligibility Criteria:

BE/B.Tech:

  • The candidates that have applied for admission should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or 12th Standard V.H.S.E., C.B.S.E., I.S.C or any other examination considered as equivalent.
  • The candidates that have applied for admission  who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognised as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for to appear for KEAM, conducted by CEE-Kerala

ME/M.Tech:

  • The candidates that have applied for admission must be an Indian National.
  • The candidates that have applied for admission should have studied the Graduate course in an institution approved by the AICTE / Deemed Universities in India.
  • The candidates that have applied for admission should have scored at least 60% aggregate of marks in the Engineering Degree examination. For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the Engineering Degree course is sufficient. For SEBC (OBC) students, a minimum of 54% aggregate marks in the Engineering Degree examination is mandatory.
  • The candidates that have applied for admission who have passed their qualifying examination in Kerala will be given preference over all candidates.
  • In the case of vacant seats due to lack of candidates with valid GATE score, candidates from Kerala State without valid GATE score will be considered for admission. If seats are still remaining vacant, candidates from other states will be considered for admission.

MCA:

  • The candidates that have applied for admission should have studied a degree course of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Engineering and Technology as a Main/ Subsidiary/ Core subject at the Degree level. Candidate should have secured at least 50% an aggregate of marks in their Degree examination.
  • For SEBC and physically handicapped candidates, the aggregate marks required is 45%. For SC and ST candidates, a minimum pass in the degree examination is sufficient.

Admission Application Procedure:

BE/B.Tech:

The candidates that have applied for admission can register for the KEAM entrance examinations by logging on to the official CEE-Kerala website.The admission application fee for all candidates is as follows:

  • General : Rs.1,000/-
  • SC : Rs.500/

The candidates that have applied for admission are required to following 7 steps given for registration to KEAM entrance examination through online application process:

  1. Candidate Registration.
  2. Candidate Login.
  3. Filling up of Application.
  4. Final Submission of Application.
  5. Payment of Application Fee.
  6. Printout of the Application.
  7. Send the Printout of application and supporting documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE-Kerala).

The candidates can then submit the prescribed admission application fee by any of the following two methods:

  1. Students can obtain the prospectus along with the application form from selected Post Offices in Kerala and outside the State upon submitting the fee through cash.
  2. Application fee can be submitted through Demand Draft (DD) in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. 
  3. Demand draft.

ME/M.Tech:

  • The candidates that have applied for admission can register themselves for M.Tech admissions through the online application process by logging on to the official DTE Kerala website.
  • Upon submitting the online application form, an application fee of Rs 500/- (Rs 100/- in the case of SC/ST Candidates) is to be remitted in any specified branch of State Bank of Travancore along with the generated challan. 
  • A printout of the duly filled-in admission application forms the copies necessary documents, to the following address:

MCA:

  • The candidates that have applied for admission to the MCA course can obtain the prospectus and register online for the examination through the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE-Kerala). Admission Application Fee for General and SEBC candidates is Rs.800/- (Rupees Eight Hundred Only). In the case of SC/ST candidates, the admission application fee is Rs.400/- (Rupees Four Hundred Only).
  • The required fee can be remitted at any branch of State Bank of Travancore using the Bank Chalan which is generated along with the online admission application printout. Candidates that are outside the State of Kerala can submit the fee through Demand Draft for the requisite amount drawn in favour of The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. 
  • Completed admission applications along with the demand draft of the required amount of fees should be sent to the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE-Kerala)

The selection of candidates for admission to the B.Tech programme will be done on the basis of their performance in KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Agriculture, Medical) entrance examinations conducted by CEE-Kerala.


ME/M.Tech:

The selection of candidates for admission to the M.Tech programme will be done on the basis of their GATE scores.


MCA:

The selection of candidates for admission to the MCA programme will be done on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination conducted by CEE-Kerala.
