Birla College of Science and Education was established in the year 1968 as an amalgamation of two existing colleges, Birla College of Science and Birla College of Education. Later, in 1987, the college was renamed to Acharya Jagadish Chandra (AJC) Bose College. AJC Bose College is accredited with ‘C’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). AJC Bose College is also affiliated to University of Calcutta and is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC).
