If you want to participate in MHT CET counselling, you must meet some MHT CET eligibility criteria set by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. On top, you must have qualified for the MHT CET 2025 exam in Pharmacy, Engineering, or Agriculture. MHT CET (Maharashtra Health & Technical Common Entrance Test) is an entrance exam conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai. If you are looking for admission in the colleges affiliated with the State University of Maharashtra to study B.E., B.Tech, B.Pharma, or Pharm.D courses, you have to mandatorily take this exam.
Eligibility Criteria for MHT CET Counselling
To participate in MHT CET counselling, you must meet academic-related criteria. The details for the same are:
Academic Qualification
- You must have cleared 10+2 examinations with Physics and Maths as mandatory subjects.
- Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject should be taken as an optional subject.
- An aggregate of 45% marks for the general category and 40% marks for the reserved categories should be achieved by you.
Nationality
- You must be a citizen of India.
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Foreign Nationals are also eligible, only for institutional quota seats.
Domicile Requirements
For Maharashtra State candidates:
- You should be a Domicile of Maharashtra
- You should have passed Class 10 and 12 from a school/college situated in Maharashtra.
Other eligibility types include:
- Maharashtra Type A: If you are born and received education in Maharashtra, you come under the Type A category.
- Type B: If your parents are domiciled in Maharashtra, you come under the Type B category.
- Type C: If your parents are working for the Government of India and are posted in Maharashtra, you will be categorised under Type C.
- Type D: If your parents are working in the Maharashtra Government or undertaking, you come under the Type D category.
- Type E: If you belong to the Maharashtra-Karnataka disputed border area, you will come under the Type E category.
Age Criteria
- You must be at a minimum of 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year if you are interested in participating in MHT CET Counselling.
- There is no upper age limit for participating in MHT CET counselling.
For All India Candidates
If you are from any other state in India, you are eligible under the All India Quota:
- If you have qualified JEE Main for B.E./B.Tech programs.
- If you are able to meet the academic qualifications mentioned above in this article.
- If you participate in the MHT CET CAP rounds via online registration.
For JEE Main Candidates
- Some of the engineering seats in Maharashtra institutions are reserved for JEE Main 2025 qualified candidates.
- Using your JEE Main Score, you can apply for admission through the MHT CET counselling portal.
- You can apply under the “ All India Category”.
For Minority/Reserved Categories
- If you belong to SC/ST/OBC/VJNT/SBC/EWS categories, you must be from the state of Maharashtra.
- You should have a valid caste/category certificate issued by the authorities.
- An MHT CET reservation benefit will also be provided to you during the seat allotment process, and fee concessions will be given to you.
