Mumbai University grading system is followed uniformly across all the state institutions. Knowing and understanding the grading and credit system in a thorough manner helps the student while preparing for the examination.
University of Mumbai Grade System: The University of Mumbai has an absolute grading system of seven (07) points. The grade O is awarded to a student scoring 70 marks or above with a 7-grade point.
Similarly, a student gets a grade A when he scores marks in the range of 60 to 69.99 and earns a grade point of 6, and a grade B is awarded to a student scoring between 55 and 59.99, with a grade point of 5 and so on.
In Mumbai University a system of assigning Credit Points (CP) for a single course is practiced and the credits assigned for a single course always pay attention to how many hours it would take for an average learner to complete a single course successfully.
While there isn't a set amount of credit points that a single course should have, most courses can have anywhere from three to eight credit points, with one credit being equivalent to roughly thirty studying hours.
Mumbai University Grading System
The Mumbai University grading system is based on semester-wise performance. The assessment of every student is to be carried out through various modes of examinations like internal assessment and end-semester examination.
Internal assessment includes class tests, home assignments, group or individual course projects. The weightage of Internal Assessment is 20, and End Semester Examination is 80 percent. In laboratory courses, continuous assessment is carried out.

Common Grading System
The Mumbai University grading system is calculated on the following basis allocated by the Mumbai University. The final grade is calculated by adding theory and practicals marks. As per the recent regulations, courses are assessed on a ratio of 40:60 between internal assessment and end-of-semester exams.
The passing segment is based on a student passing in at least two segments, internal assessment, and end semester assessment. The passing percentage as per the Mumbai university grading system is 40-60 respectively in assessment.

Mumbai University Credit and Course Requirements
Based on the recently introduced semester-based credit system, students should have a minimum number of credits to graduate from the program. The credit required to graduate the degree varies by institution. The requirements of academic work for a particular degree is measured in terms of credits.
The Mumbai University grading system considers the number of hours of instruction per week for the course. For courses like BSc, Bcom, and BA, the internal marks are not taken for valuation. Instead, the marks are valued based on their performance in the previous semester.
