VITEEE 2026 will be conducted from Apr 28 to May 03, 2026. VITEEE Guidelines 2026 will give an overview of the exam such as important dates, technical requirements and few others.
Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination, abbreviated as VITEEE, is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology every year for admission into undergraduate engineering courses such as B.Tech. Just before the beginning of the exam, the authorities of VITEEE issued VITEEE guidelines stating the dos and don’ts during the exams.
Furthermore, you can find the permissible and non-permissible lists for the exam mentioned on the admit card. Earlier, it was supposed to be a computer-based examination. However, the authorities have decided to conduct the exam as an online remote proctored exam.

What is an Online Remote Proctored Exam (ORPE)? - VITEEE 2026 Guidelines
Since the exam is an online, remote proctored exam (ORPE), there is a set of instructions one must keep in mind before starting the examination.
- The place should be disturbance-free, where the presence of a person is null or minimal, with a good range of distance.
- You are required to place both primary and secondary devices in such a way that they could provide a clear and full picture.
- Do not use any other browser or app while giving the exam.
- Connecting to any other devices, such as Bluetooth headphones or displays, is prohibited.
- Answering calls on the phone or primary devices isn't allowed throughout the examination.
- One should neither try to talk to anyone nor refer to any material during the examination period.
- Do not try to take screenshots or attempt to record screens.
- If you feel anything is wrong with the question paper, write your session name, a few lines of the question, and the required clarification to ugadmission@vit.ac.in
If any of the above-mentioned guidelines are found to be violated, it will lead to the direct termination of your examination.

Technical Requirements for VITEEE 2026 - Exam Device Requirements
It has been mentioned by the authorities that you will require a primary as well as a secondary device with a stable internet connection and good speed. You will be supervised throughout the exam by the invigilators. You are advised to keep the cameras on and avoid keeping any sort of materials around them.
The following guidelines are supposed to be followed for the exam device that is being used to take the VITEEE 2026 Examination. You will not be able to access the exam portal if the following requirements are not met.

Primary Device
- Device specification: Apple macOS: 64-bit macOS and the minimum macOS version supported is macOS 10.11 (El Capitan).
- Microsoft Windows: 64-bit Windows on AMD or Intel CPUs, and the supported OS versions are Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
- Ubuntu Linux: 64-bit Ubuntu on AMD or Intel CPUs and the supported OS versions are Ubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 20.04
Secondary Device
- Android mobile device with a front-facing camera, with a minimum OS version of Android 8 or above, and Chrome browser (version 80 or above) or Edge browser (version 45 or above)
- iOS mobile device with a front-facing camera, with a minimum OS version iOS 13 or above, and Safari browser (version 13 or above).
Network Connection
- A stable network connection to each device at a minimum upload/download bandwidth of 256 kbps should be available throughout the test window period i.e. two hours (30 minutes for pretest checking and 90 minutes for actual test).
- The test platform will assess the network and device capabilities and will allow you to proceed only if you comply with the test requirements mentioned above. Else, the applicant cannot proceed with the exam.
- Restarting the examination is not possible once it has been started.
- Losing connection for more than 5 minutes in between the tests will result in termination of the examination.
- It is advised to have UPS support during the examination period.
- In case your WiFi is connected to an electrical power outlet, ensure a power backup for WiFi.
- A minimum of 1 GB is required for this duration, with a recommended speed of 512 kbps for the primary and secondary devices separately.
- Do go for a pre-evaluation of the camera, speaker, and mic for both devices, along with checking the network.
- Bluetooth devices are strictly prohibited.
- Wired headphones, USB mouse/ keyboards can be used as per requirement
- If auto-updates are on, turn off both devices.
- Also, the secondary device should be in a silent/ “Do Not Disturb mode but with mobile data on, to avoid any sort of interruptions.
- Video conferencing applications like Zoom, Webex, MS Teams, etc. should be closed.

VITEEE 2026 Slot Booking
Slots were available for two mock tests and an actual Exam (ORPE) from June 2026. The link for the mock test will be available on the VITEEE page and each applicant’s slot booked will be confirmed by email/ SMS.
- Only applicants can book the slot since the photo of the applicant will be captured at the time of slot booking. The applicant will be the only one who can book the slot, as while booking the time slot/their photo will be captured.
- Slot booking is necessary since failing this, you won't be eligible to give the actual examination, and the window for booking will be available till 21 May 202
- Failing to take mock tests will lead to incompatibility and an inability to participate in the actual examination. Hence, it is mandatory to participate in Mock Tests.
- There will be four slots per day.
VITEEE 2026 E-Admit Card
An E-Admit card will be generated on the successful booking of the slot. If the applicant fails to book the slot, the slot will be booked automatically, and an e-admit card will be sent to the applicants by email with an alert as SMS.
The E-admit card and valid government ID proof in original should be ready for verification at the time of VITEEE (Both Hard & Soft copies).
VITEEE 2026 Mock Tests
VITEEE releases the sample papers on its official website before the exam. Samples will be available in the form of PDFs. Besides, there will be sample papers for each subject in the VITEEE 2026 exam, i.e., Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Aptitude.
Moreover, sample papers will reflect the exam pattern and marking schemes. Therefore, it will enhance your preparation level and boost your time management capabilities. Additionally, it will act as a mock test.
