Admission for IISER through JEE Advanced is done through two channels namely, IAT and JEE Advanced score. You can get admission if you secure a rank within 15000 in JEE Advanced. You can also appear for IAT by fulfilling the eligibility criteria.
IISER through JEE Advanced 2025 allows you to get admission to BS-MS (Bachelor of Science & Master of Science) dual degree programs through two different channels, namely the IAT and JEE Advanced. The eligibility criteria for IISER through JEE Advanced are based on the nationality, age, educational qualification, and performance in the IISER Aptitude Test 2025.
For admission to IISER through JEE Advanced, it is mandatory to score at least 75% in 10+2 for the general category and 65% for the ST/SC/PwD categories. The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) has established the IISER eligibility criteria for those seeking admission to Integrated science-oriented programs at its seven campuses in India.
IISER Through JEE Advanced 2025: Eligibility Criteria
There are two channels to gain admission to IISER: JEE Advanced and IISER aptitude test. Those who wish to apply for admission based on IISER through JEE Advanced 2025 must meet the following eligibility requirements and the common IISER eligibility criteria 2025:
- Minimum Rank: The minimum rank requirement as per the JEE Advanced CRL is 15000
- Nationality: Foreign and Indian nationals, including OCI/PIO cardholders
- Percentage in Class 12th: If seeking admission to IISER you must have a minimum aggregate score of 60% in class XII or an equivalent exam.

In addition to the above qualifying criteria for IISER through JEE Advanced 2025, you must obtain the board-wise cutoff marks. Suppose the board's name is not listed in the board-wise IISER cutoff list 2025. In that case, you must either produce a certificate from your respective board stating your position among the top 20 percentile holders, or the CBSE board's qualifying cutoff will be used.
Note: IISER through JEE Advanced was accepted until 2023. From 2025, you will only be admitted through the IISER Aptitude Test.

Eligibility Criteria for the IAT Based on Nationality

- You must be an Indian citizen.
- You can be a PIO (Person of Indian Origin). In simple terms, you can be a foreign citizen with an Indian passport or who has parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents who were born and permanent residents of India.
- You can be an OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India). It's an immigration status that allows foreign citizens of Indian origin to live and work in India indefinitely.
Note: To be eligible for IAT 2025, OCI/PIO card holders must also satisfy other eligibility criteria. They shall be eligible to compete for the unreserved seats.
Eligibility Criteria for the IAT Based on Age and Qualification

- You must have cleared Class XII or equivalent level examination in 2022, 2023, or 2025 from any board recognized by the COBSE in India.
- You must have at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.
- SC/ST/PwD candidates are required to score a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.
- From other categories you must score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.
Note: Those are from JKBOSE, from Kashmir division/Winter Zone areas of Jammu division, and the U.T. of Ladakh who appeared in their Class XII or equivalent level examination in December 2021 are also eligible to apply for the IAT 2025, provided you satisfy all the other eligibility criteria. During the application process, these students must pick 2022 as their year of passing the class 12 examination.
Eligibility Criteria for the IAT Based on Performance

- You must have appeared for the class XII or equivalent examination but if the results have not been declared then you can appear for the IAT. However, your admission is subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria mentioned above.
- Those had appeared in the Class XII or equivalent examination for the first time in 2023 and reappeared in any subject in 2025, the better of two performances will be taken into consideration.
- If a board follows a grading system without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, you must obtain a certificate specifying the equivalent marks. - Step 1: Visit the official website of IISER.
- Step 2: Click on the "Admissions" tab on the top menu of the homepage.

- You cannot get into IISER through JEE Mains.
