Pinky Gogoi's Review on Pune Institute of Business Management

Pune Institute of Business Management(PIBM) has 2 internships for each batch which is compulsory for every student. One in Dec-Jan(Winter) after First Semester and the other in May-July (Summer) after the Second Semester. There are more than 300 National and Multinational companies currently associated with the college, and there is an active corporate interaction platform. Marketing has been bagging the highest salary every year followed by Finance and HR. The Average Salary of the current batch of 2018-20 is 5.50 Lakhs and the highest is 9.00 Lakhs. The institute has a track record of providing 100% placement every year. PIBM has a strong alumni network that assists students and guides them in problems they face in classrooms and the workplace. For placements in Internships, the alumni network works as a key facilitator.

There is a Hostel facility available to all students and for the first 2 Semesters, it is compulsory to live in the hostel by college rules. According to our college, the people you are living with will be your biggest strength tomorrow, so we live in a hostel to create a network of highly educated individuals. The girls PGs are 1BHK apartments which are occupied by 4 and boy PGs are apartments are 2BHK apartments which are occupied by 6. In every apartment, there is 24 running water, Power Back up, Laundry Rooms with Washing Machines installed. For the senior year, there are affordable PGs and apartments available in the area at reasonable rates. 

The Chairman of the Institute believes that nutritious food in our body will lead us towards growth. The food provided in PIBM is Pure Vegetarian and delicious as well. The college believes in Zero wastage of food, so we are now accustomed to this habit as well. And there is a Canteen available inside the college premises, which serves fast food both vegetarian and nonvegetarian at pocket-friendly rates. 

The classroom strength of the college is of 60students each, and all the classes are well equipped with the amenities to provide the students with the best classroom experiences. There are 2 IT Labs, Library(both Physical and Digital), and incubation centers of MSMEs the most recent one is of Elliot Systems, a US-based IoT startup. Wi-Fi is available at both hostel and college.

The vision of our Chairman is to provide accessible high-quality education to as many students as possible. Entrance tests like CAT and MAT are accepted and PMAT is also conducted for students who didn't appear in any. The admission procedure generally consists of a Group Discussion followed by an assessment of written communication skills in the form of Essay writing or Report Writing, which is then followed by and Personal Interview. The eligibility criteria are above 50 percentile in entrances and graduation along with 10th and 12th. This cut off is generally dependent on the batch strength of the year. The strength of the current batch is 850 students and the proposed next batch strength is 1000 students. CAT score was considered for my admission in the college which was higher than other entrance tests I appeared for and the selection process started in January 1st week of 2019. 

There are 2 batches of classes in PIBM. Morning batch starts from 7:00 am to 2:15 pm, and an Evening batch starts from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm. The students and teachers both coordinate with each other for numerous projects and assignments. The life in PIBM is hectic, the schedules are prepared in a way to make the students familiar with the pressure of corporate life. The teaching pedagogy is of experiential learning so there are a lot of workshops and live projects that go on simultaneously with the regular classes, which gives the students added experience with the classroom sessions. The classroom sessions are interactive and all the students are encouraged to participate as well as lead discussions. My overall experience in college is really good so far, I can see that all the rigorous sessions have made a positive change. 

Pune Institute of Business Management, [PIBM] Pune Fee Structure. The total fee for AICTE approved PGDM program is 10.75 Lakhs, which includes Hostel, Transportation and Canteen fees. There are no scholarship options provided by the college. Educational loans can be availed by students from banks. Axis Bank has strong collaborations with IBM, other nationalized and private sector banks that will also provide the loans.

The events in PIBM are student-driven, there are student clubs of each specialization; Finance, Marketing, and Human Resources. There are student societies of IT, Digital Marketing, Events, Placements, MSME, etc. 

PIBM have Aarambh as a friendly cultural meet for the freshers, Solistice is the first interaction of the freshers to the senior batch it is the freshers as well as the farewell, Glory is PIBM's youth festival. There are multiple seminars, corporate sessions, and workshops going on every week, which facilitates the students with learning experiences. All of the events are arranged and conducted by the students, with guidance from the faculty and the Administrative department.

Life in PIBM will teach you to get the most out of your time. Time Management is the biggest skill you will acquire during your time. There is a game room with indoor games, a music room where you can have Jam sessions in also a well-equipped gym as well. You are also welcome to jog in lanes surrounding the college, and for trekking enthusiasts; the college believes Trekking is the most effective way to teach endurance and stress. So there will be a lot of trekking.
