Placements and Internships

4

I recently finished my 2nd year and am now interning at a startup in Bangalore, while the course plan is elaborate and covers basic skills required I would suggest students to cultivate technical skills apart from the course plan for a more dynamic profile. Key companies that recruit from the campus include Amazon, Microsoft, Dell, Bosch, Deloitte, FIAT etc. Overall placement is good as long as you have a well rounded skill set.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

5

There are currently a total of 20+ hostel blocks, out of which half are girls blocks and the rest are boys blocks, all the hostels have great infrastructure and facilities. Each hostel has several wardens appointed and caretakers to take care of the students' well being and safety. Each block has different fees depending on which type of room it is. Other than the hostels there are pgs and appartments available for students within campus vicinity. The campus has several food mess, veg and non veg separated with good hygenic food and for those who are unable to enjoy their food there are other options available as well. All hostels and academic areas have high speed Wifi and water filters.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

MIT has a separate entrance exam which follows similar question pattern as JEE Mains with a total of 200 question to be solved in 2 hours. The diffiulty level of these questions is below JEE Mains and covers basics of all subjects. One mark is rewarded for every correct answer and there is no negative marking. The typical Cutoff for IT is around 150 marks. While the questions arent very difficult it is a race against time to solve as many questions correctly within the time limit.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

The basic class timings is from 8am to 5:30pm. There are breaks after two consecutive classes and lunch breaks, classes are scheduled 6 days a week and vary wrt to time table. A minimum of two half days is observed in the timetable. The faculty is experienced and learned and extremely supportive. The campus atmosphere is very friendly and supportive and prioritizes student safety and well being. Infrastructure is top notch and course currriculum is regularly updated.

Clubs and Associations

5

There are more than 150+ student clubs in MIT manipal which include non technical clubs like dramatics, dance, music, arts, debate etc, techincal clubs like IECSE, IEEE, AISTE, AIESEC etc and student projects like Formula manipal, MRM, TMR which are all renowned in their fields. Students are free to join as many clubs each of which helps in their personal growth. Most of these clubs have events of their own like the plays put on by the dramatics clubs or acoustic nights by MAFIA. Other than these the two main college fests are Tech Tatva and Revels where colleges from all over india come to participate in various events.

The college celebrates all major festivals by making arrangements in the hockey/football ground and all students and faculty are invited. A sight to behold is the diwali celebration where instead of lighting firecrackers everyone releases fire lanterns into the sky and the entire night sky is filled with lanterns drifting away. The college life is energizing and fun and teaches us how to be independent.

Academics & Faculty : Usually we'll be having half day class. If we have lab then we'll be having full day class. We have 2 sessional exams which carries 15 marks each, 5 assignments each carrying 4 marks and end semester exam which is out of 50 marks. Method of teaching-Quality of teaching is good, they'll tell us which book to refer, they explain everything. Overall experience is excellent. We get to know many things. We can join in any clubs.

Academics & Faculty : The Information and communication dept. of MIT Manipal has a bunch of very experienced faculties. The importance of practical lab sessions is much greater than regular classes. There are a few options for subjects known as program electives.
