Placements and Internships

4

I have done one internship till date that paid me a stipend of ₹5000 per month. Key companies that hire from the campus include Morgan Stanley, PayPal, Flipkart, Amazon, Goldman, buyxmart Such and Snapdeal. The average salary for the past 2 academic years has been around ₹ 6 lakh per annum whereas the highest has been around ₹21lakhs per annum for this academic year. The placement percentage is usually 100%. The Alumni network is really good. People after having passed out have gone abroad for education and professional purposes and are faring well.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3

There are 3 hostels. Hostels are good and provide options to choose from. The hostel fee (including mess charges) ranges from INR.80,000 per month to INR.140,000 per month depending on the choice of mess and the room. There are no options for PGs nearby though flats are available at nominal rents. 2BHK costs around INR.12,000 per month. The food is good enough. There are options to choose from during the mess choice. The mess is compulsory for students in the hostel, and the payment is taken as a one-time payment for the entire year. The cost per meal would break down to around INR.50. Classrooms are good and are equipped with all the key technology. Labs are always updated. The library is one of the finest I've seen. Dining halls are big, clean and well maintained. Wi-Fi gives a good speed.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The eligibility criteria are very simple. One needs to have a minimum of around 75% in the 10th and 12th board examinations. To apply to the college, one needs to fill up the application for VIT entrance examination. It's usually online examination though it has detected centres for the same. The rankings are then announced. For computer science and engineering, the cutoff rank usually ranges from 2000-3000 in category 1. They open the latter categories up to category 5 but the tuition fee increases as well.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

The daily routine is completely in the hands of the students. In VIT, it's we that decide the timetable structure due to FFCS. Class timings can be anything between 8 to 6 pm, according to the timetable made by the student during the course registration. The projects are up to students creative solutions. The college recommends around 4 hours per week on a project. There are a semester end exam and 2 midterms every semester. The students are asked to do 3 assignments every semester. The quality and method are really good as the teachers are top notch. Overall experience has been fine till date.

Fees and Scholarships

3

My course fee alone is INR.275,000 per alone. I pay INR110,000 extra for hostel facilities per year. The scholarship options are not much while joining, but later there are options like the VITAA scholarship. The average number of students get tithe ng scholarship is around 15-20. Loans may be needed if it's latter categories. They can be easily availed since VIT is a college of good fame. One can try State Bank of India. I have got from there myself.

Clubs and Associations

3.5

There are many clubs and societies and they cover every possible field. Name the field, and you'll already have a society or a club in that field. The technical fest is called technoVIT and the cultural fest is called Vibrance. These are the main festivals on the campus. The college life is good enough and is bound to grow better with the expansion of the campus.
