Chinmayanand Kottali's Review on Maharaj Vijayaram Gajapathi Raj College of Engineering (MVGRCE)

There is no compulsion for the students to do an internship & the college provides no such opportunities as well. The only way a student gets to know about any internships that are applicable is through the mails sent by the T&P Officer. TCS, Trianz & Virtusa take in most of the students during campus placements. The average pay package is around 2.5Lakhs per anum.

The campus is expanded over 43 acre of land and has very good laboratories.

There is no Wi-Fi facility for the students yet.

To facilitate the students who are commuting from Visakhapatnam & Vizianagaram, the College runs 27 buses (23 for Visakhapatnam & 4 for Vizianagaram), covering each & every corner of both the cities. In addition to this, a number of Public & Private Busses/Cabs are available from Visakhapatnam & Vizianagaram to reach the college.

MVGR has a pretty decent schedule. Classes start at 9am and stretch to 4pm. Students have the freedom to use laptops in class but the use of mobile phones in the campus premises is strictly prohibited. Most of the faculty are Associate Professors with decent knowledge over the subject that they deal with. Most of the classes are taught using ppts. Assignemnts are always there, but they are doable. The college library is something that students can always brag about & the department libraries adds brownie points. We follow Semester examination system in affiliation with JNTUK. The college has also been declared as autonomous from the year 2015.

Usually there is no need of a scholarship as the tution fee is only 60k per year. But after completion of 4 semesters, the top three students from each department recieve scholarships worth 30k, 15k & 10k respectively. Also, there are several other Government fundings for students in the form of Fee Reimbursement or SC/ST Scholarships, etc.

The college has it's own Basketball, Volleyball Courts, Football Ground and a Cricket Stadium. Apart from these, every department has it's own Badminton Court.

There are a lot of Social clubs which have been started by both students & lecturers and many students participate actively in them. A decent number of Professional clubs also exist.

The college offers coaching for certification on various professional courses which adds a lot of technical value to the students.
