Placements and Internships

SASTRA guarantees 100% placements every year. Apart from the placements, internships are given to the deserving students. 

Many reputed companies such as PayPal, Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Ashok Leyland etc and startups such as Freshworks, Freshdesk, Nusigma etc hire our students with an average salary of INR 7 lakhs per annum and the highest salary offered was INR 27 lakhs per annum.

 

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

There are 5 hostels for girls and 7 hostels for boys. For single rooms, the hostel fee is 16,000 rupees per anum whereas for five-in-one rooms the hostel fee is half the single room fee. Mess fee is 3,000 rupees per month. Classrooms are huge and spacious with 24/7 superfast WIFI connection. The Central library is the only spot for all the studious and geeky students.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The admission is based on their JEE and 12th examination score. The split up of percentage is 70% for board examination score and 30% for JEE score. The cutoff for any course is 90 percentile. There is no entrance examination.

Academics and Faculty

The faculties are categorised according to experience and seniority. The students are given the right to choose their own faculties. In a total of three assignments for each semester, three CIAs and end semester with practicals is the general procedure for evaluation.

Fees and Scholarships

Tuition fee for any course is 45,000 rupees per semester. The scholarships have also been awarded to other state students.  Every Andhra Pradesh student gets scholarships based on their board examination score. Scholarships are being offered to girl students too. Funds are being offered to final year students for their project.

Clubs and Associations

The cultural clubs include Sastra Music team, Sastra dance team, Studio, Potohub. On the other hand, there are clubs based on languages such as Sastra Tamil Sangam, Hindi lits, English lits and Telugu lits. Apart from the cultural clubs, SCORE, EXNORA and PLASMA are the social clubs of SASTRA.  KURUKSASTRA (cultural event), Daksh (Technical fest) and Colossium (sports fest) are the main festivals of SASTRA. College life is a whole new experience filled with fun and responsibilities.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Mainly the eligibility to get a seat in SASTRA is to pass your 12th (intermediate) with 98% and there is another choice that you should get good mark's in JEE MAIN exam (minimum of above 150).

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Opting to study at Sastra has so far been the best decision that I have ever taken. The campus is located in quite a remote location boasts a wonderful student crowd and has a strong diversity among the students. It is fairly competitive and is ranked the 25th best college to study engineering in India by the NIRF (national institutional ranking framework).  The application process was quite demanding. Applicants need to submit a proof of their high school degree completion. Basically, Sastra admits students through its counseling process which has two different streams. Stream 1 applicants will have to submit their jee-mains score along with their respective board exam scores. Based on those two scores, the weightage will be 70% board exam scores and 30% JEE MAIN score.
