Placements and Internships

4

  • I have done internships in Siemens Mumbai and Siemens Energy Vadodara during my second and third year respectively. Siemens provides stipend if the internship period is greater than 3 months. Since my internship was for 2 months, I was not entitled to stipends.
  • College of Engineering has been rated to be best at industry links for a few years. Hence a lot of companies visit the college for placements. The majority of companies visit for CORE job profiles. However, there are some blue chip companies who provide sales, marketing, finance and consulting jobs. The finance and consulting job profile are open only to those from electronics, comp-it, instrumentation depts. The mechanical, production have placements from the core jobs or very less from the sales.
  • Average package offered is around Rs. 6-7 lakh per annum without benefits.
  • The highest package goes to Japanese companies offering more than Rs. 40 lakhs or the investment banking firms like Goldman Sachs offering Rs. 30 lakhs pa.
  • The college is Asia's third oldest and has a very large alumni network spread over many industries and government organizations.

  • Mess is available separate for each year with nonveg on Sundays. The cost per meal is Rs. 50/- Numerous options for breakfast and afternoon snacks and one can feel nice at first but gets bored after a month or so due to the repeated menu.
  • Infrastructure is above average and has all needed by students but maintenance should be up to the mark and infrastructure can be made world class if a college wants to attract more students and improve its ranking.
