- I did 3 internships and 3 projects at NIT Allahabad. The college provides you various opportunities for a different kind of Internships and Projects.
I did my internships at IIT Delhi, Britannia Industries Ltd, and Ather Energy.
Projects run parallelly with academics and daily classes and the professors are very helpful in providing the students adequate time for their self-studies and project works too. - Brahmos DRDO, HUL, PSU's, Reliance, Flipkart, Amazon, Adobe, De Shaw, Maruti, Hero, Bajaj, etc are the major companies that visit our campus every year for the placement drive of the students.
- The average salary offered to students of Mechanical Engineering branch is about 6-7 lakhs per annum. Off campus, placements are rarely required as the majority of the students get placed in companies visiting the campus.
- We also have a large number of alumni’s spread across the globe: US, UK, Australia, and European Union (EU). Every year, the alumni's of our college meet us at the Annual Alumni Meet where they share their experiences and lend their helping hands to us (the students).
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- The Institute has a Central Library which has a collection of nearly 1,04,382 books and bound periodicals. It subscribes 53 Indian and 237 International technical periodicals. It also subscribes 11 newspapers (04 Hindi 07 English) and 17 popular magazines on different topics.
- The Institute has a Computer Centre which is connected to the Internet through 50 Mbps BSNL and 50 Mbps Airtel , 1 Gbps NKN lease line. Server room has 7 different servers of different specifications & computational power. Students have access to about 350 computers equipped with latest hardware and software specifications. Parallel computing laboratory with Param 10000 Supercomputer, Param 8000, Computer Vision Robotics Laboratory with all suitable peripherals and software needed for the vision system have also been established.
- The college encamps different departments which not only help in the smooth functioning of the academic activities but also provide the budding technocrats with the latest laboratory facilities for their technical upliftment and development of professional traits. Each department provides various lab facilities for the practical as well as research purpose.
- The Design Center , established under the INDO-UK REC project, conducts R & D, and consultancy activities in the area of CAD /CAM, PCB Design, Image Processing and Vision Systems, Robotics, Air Pollution Control & Structural Testing etc. The center is equipped with 24 no. of Pentium PC/AT’s networked together with 2 servers. Besides these, there is other high precision equipment.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- Admission in MNNIT Allahabad is through JEE Mains Exam (Joint Entrance Examination) . People opting to do B.Tech from IIT or NIT have to give this exam. There are two exams under this . First is JEE Main which selects students for admission in NIT and IIT. Around 10Lakh students give this exam every year . From which only 1.5 Lakh are selected for JEE Advanced exam . This is the second exam under JEE.
- Students selected under this exam are called for IIT Counselling. And the students that can't pass this exam are called for NIT Counselling. JoSAA is the new counseling board for all IIT and NIT . CS and IT branches fill rapidly with high merits in MNNIT. Along with MECH and ECE. To secure a seat in one of these branches in MNNIT , you should pass your JEE Exam with good merit. So that even if you can not clear JEE Advanced , you still can make it to NIT.
Academics and Faculty
- The most fascinating and attracting thing which I felt about my college is the dedicated , helping , supporting and guiding seniors . Any help related to studies, courier guidance, moral support, and encouragement are provided by the seniors. Teachers also organize various kind of programs like arranging video conferencing with industry people so that we can have the knowledge of the industry. Several kinds of workshops are held on a regular basis to make us aware of recent trends and technologies in science. We also have the chance to involve in NCC or NSS ( one of which is compulsory ) . Students are also provided with best of the coaches in every game and the most famous in my college is athletics. Intra and inter sports events are also organized yearly . We have one gymkhana where world class facility of gym equipment are available ; separate for girls and boys.
- My college has one e-grievance cell where students can report for any of their problem regarding studies, ranging, faculty etc. One women e-cell is also there so that no kind of sexual harassment can occur . Such kind of problems can be easily raised here without even declaring your identity.
Fees and Scholarships
- The tuition fee is Rs.75000/- per year.
- Various scholarship options are available based on your AIEEE rank ( JEE Main ), if it is within 4000 then students are paid Rs.3000/- per month.
- Financial support to economically weak students is there at MNNIT.
- On an average around 300 students in total get scholarships.
- Though loans are not needed but if someone requires then several banks like SBI, PNB, Vijaya bank easily provides you loans on reasonable interest rates.

Academics & Faculty : DAILY ROUTINE: Normal day in the life of an mnnitian starts at 8 in the morning(sometimes 9) and continues till 12noon.Most of the baches have a 2 hour break from 12pm to 2pm and after that classes continue till 5pm in the evening.(Don't worry there will not be any study hours like in private colleges).The only problem is that attendence have to be maintained atleast above 75%(though there will be some relaxations).Quality of food in college mess will be very poor and non-vegetarians has to suffer a lot as campus is purely veg.There will be an average of 28 to 32 classes per week.Lan service will be provided to all the students in the college to every room.Rooms are somewhat congested with the exception of 1st year rooms.The campus is strictly against ragging.
