Placements and Internships
- B.M.S. Institute of Technology has the best placement recorded from the CS branch with around 80% placement.
- Majority of IT company come and hire the students like Yahoo, Directi, Cognizant etc.
- However the placements of core branches are not that good with the majority of them landing a job in a software company.
- The college has just signed a pact with a core company KPIT for placements.
- The highest package can range from Rs. 14 lakhs and average package offered is Rs. 3.5 lakhs per annum.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- The quality of classrooms is pretty decent at B.M.S. Institute of Technology.
- But labs are well furnished and equipped to meet the needs of each.
- Wi-Fi is available across the whole campus.
- The college has a decent Football court that is used a multi-purpose stadium and ground as well.
- The indoor basketball court and badminton courts are the highlights of the sports facilities.
- The college gym is a huge disappointment.
- The canteen is pretty good and is very economical for college students. There are various eateries in and around the campus.
Academics and Faculty
- Mechanical department at BMS Institute of Technology (BMSIT) is said to be the best with most professors having above 10 years of teaching experience.
- Computer Science (CS), Electrical & ECE step in next with slightly more considerate teachers and department rules. Teaching is nearly as good as mechanical.
- IS & Telecom have average faculty, good enough to keep the students satisfied.
- The college tries to make the students attend above 85% of the lectures, with 75% as the lower recommended. Only in very extreme case students get detained.
- There are 3 internal of 25 marks each out of which best of 2 are taken.
Fees and Scholarships
- Scholarships are given to students who belong to reserved categories ( Karnataka domicile) on the basis of annual income of the parent at B.M.S. Institute of Technology.
- Loans are also available pretty easily, there is a branch of Allahabad bank on the college campus which can be helpful in securing a loan.
- The fee structure for KCET students is Rs. 33,000 and for COMEDK students it is Rs. 1,37,000.
Clubs and Associations
- Life on B.M.S. Institute of Technology campus is pretty good for any of the colleges in metro cities in India.
- Opportunities for extra-curricular might not be gift wrapped but sure are available.
- There is NSS, Melton foundation, and google student group on the campus.

Academics & Faculty : BMS College of Engineering was established in the year 1946 in Bangalore, followed by the later BMS Evening College of Engineering was established. The college has a good faculty with a lot of teaching experience.
