There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The food in the canteen is decent. Classrooms are good. Labs have proper equipment and library is equipped with quality books and there is also a digital library.
Minimum 70% in 12th board exams. CET or ComedK are the qualifying exams, with a 5000 rank in CET and a rank of 6000 in ComedK
BMS Institute of Technology starts from 8:30-4:30 which includes classes, labs, and assignments. Teaching quality is decent and method of teaching is standard. Projectors are used by teachers for effective teaching. The Experience is very good. But the timings are bit hectic.
The fee is rupees 181000 per annum, Taking Loans may depend on the financial status of the students. Scholarships are available to students from rural areas.
Various clubs like ECO, Software club, dance club, photography club etc are available. The college fest, Utsaha, is conducted every April. There will be different branch wise fests throughout the year. College life is peaceful but also hectic at times.

Academics & Faculty : BMS College of Engineering was established in the year 1946 in Bangalore, followed by the later BMS Evening College of Engineering was established. The college has a good faculty with a lot of teaching experience.
Academics & Faculty : Mechanical department at BMS Institute of Technology (BMSIT) is said to be the best with most professors having above 10 years of teaching experience. Computer Science (CS), Electrical & ECE step in next with slightly more considerate teachers and department rules. Teaching is nearly as good as mechanical. IS & Telecom have average faculty, good enough to keep the students satisfied. The college tries to make the students attend above 85% of the lectures, with 75% as the lower recommended. Only in very extreme case students get detained. There are 3 internal of 25 marks each out of which best of 2 are taken.
