Entrance Exams & Admissions : Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Kolkata, under Indian Maritime University, Kolkata campus is one of the oldest colleges for Marine Engineering aspirants. It offers B.Tech in Marine Engineering through its affiliation to IMU. IMU organises an exam called IMU CET every year in the month of May - June every year for candidates who want to go into marine related courses like B.Tech and B.Sc. The candidate has to apply for the exam and if selected they go through counselling procedure which is done online. The cutoff for General candidates is under 500 rank and for OBC candidates is under 1200 to 1500 rank.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The main entrance examination is IIT JEE MAIN to get into Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Kolkata. The typical cutoff is a little less than what is required for IIT's. It is around 140 marks in IIT JEE MAIN exam.
Fees & Scholarships : The fees is approximately INR 225000/- per year. State government scholarships for SC, ST and OBC cadets are provided. Lloyd's register of shipping, London scholarship for top 5 cadets DMET Ex association Singapore scholarship for 2 cadets.
