Placements and Internships
Internships:
- I did my internship at Chaya education ltd. (Cracku - an IITB, VJTI, IIMA startup based in hyderabad). Mine was in marketing field but opportunities were also available for content and coding. Stipend given : Rs. 15,000 for duration for one month and Rs.20,000 per month if the candidate wants to do internship for two month.
- Some of the other good internship opportunities were available with companies such as credit suisse, barclays, citi corp, amazon, samsung, mahindra, cummins, black & veatch, nomura, deloitte etc.
- Various other startups also provided internships with good renumeration.
- For a particular comapny itself various roles were available.
Final Placements :
- Most of the placements were based in India but some companies also recruited for America and Japan based roles.
- For Comps and It based roles major recruiters were: morgan stanley, credit suisse, goldman sachs, microsoft, google, barclays, citi corp, amazon, samsung, nomura, deloitte, visa, cimpress, dcb, interactive brokers, oracle, rakuten, cisco, thomas cook, JP morgan, Dolat capital, citius tech, adobe, SAP,wipro, hp, cognizant, tcs, infosys, accenture, tech mahindra, etc.
- For Electronics and Telecommunication based roles major recruiters were: airtel, vodafone, cisco, nvidia, hcl, philips, motorola, reliance jio, LG electronics, BOA etc.
- For core sectors such as mechanical, electrical, civil and production major recruiters were: Bajaj auto, mahindra, L&T, siemens, godrej, hyundai, acg, cummins, lodha, royal enfield, fiat crysler, texas instruments, trident, schnider electric, vedanta, blue star, whirlpool, aker solutions, welspun, reliance industries, voltas, JSW steels, Titan etc.
- For analytics based roles major recruiters were: Musigma, fractal anlytics, etc.
- For consulting based roles major recruiters were: KPMG, Pwc, Ernst and young, etc.
- For finance and investment banking based roles major recruiters were: HDFC, Kotak mahindra, halftick, edelweiss finance, etc.
- For other nontech roles there are many other well establised companies and startups.
- In all more than 200+ companies visits the campus which is the best among non IIT campus.
- There is 99 to 100 % placement record for all branches.
- Average salary is around Rs. 6 lacs with highest salary of Rs. 25 lacs per annum.
Alumni network:
- With 125 years of academic excellence there are alumni placed all over the world and working with esteemed institutions.
- Founder of Mahindra & Mahindra Mr. J.C. mahindra was an VJTI Meachanical engineering alumni.
- Founder of Kirloskar group was VJTI mechanical engineering alumni.
- Few other well known alumni are : Renuka Ramnath – Ex CEO of ICICI Ventures
Dr. Anil Kakodkar – Former Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission of India
Avtar Saini – Former Director for South Asia Region, Intel and one of the pioneers of the Pentium processors
Madhukar Talwalkar - Owner of the famous gymnasium chain Talwalkars. - There is also very active vjti alumni association present in the campus.
Academics and Faculty
For 1st year degree(i.e. B.tech )
- Academically first and second sem are very rigorous with daily schedule of 9 am to 5 pm everyday with proper distribution between lectures and practicals
- Assignments are given as soon as a particular chapter is taught
- Two IST (In Semester Test) of 30 marks for each subject are conducted and finally an EST(End Semester Test) of 100 marks for each subject. Out of 100% for grading EST has weightage of 60%, IST has weightage of 30% and remaing 10% for assignments, attendance, viva. Grading is given in CGPA out of 10 grade points. (Note: This examination pattern is carried out for all four years.)
Fees and Scholarships
- Being an autonomous intitute the fees are discounted as compared to other top university engineering programme. Per year fees is around Rs. 50,000 for general category student and Rs. 19,000 for reserved category student as they are given scholarship by government.
- There are many private scholarships available. Like VJTI have ties with Ratan Tata scholarship, Sir dorabji and JRD TATA scholarship, Narottam sekhsaria, Siemens are some of them.
- Out of these some are merit based scholarship while others are merit cum means based.
- Every years there is also alumni association scholarships given worth full year college fees. But these are given just to toppers.

Academics & Faculty : Academics is very good in this college,as very well known to most of the people;being one of the oldest college in India,it ha maintained its standards with good quality and very well qualified teachers. The timing of lectures for different batches is different but overall time table is not that hectic. You get enough time to do sports, reading,projects,assignments. Teachers regularly give assignments on covered portions time to time and do check them seriously because the evaluation system in college is continuous evaluation type,so assignments and good performance in class regularly matters a lot. Lots of extracurricular activities are also their which are run by students themselves like Robotics society, entrepreneurship cell, etc. My personal experience is very good about the college and u love it and being here.

Academics & Faculty : Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute- is an alegacy for more than 125 years. it is one of the top 10 colleges of engineering in Maharashtra. VJTI has been granted financial and academic autonomy in june,2001, thus institute has implemented a new revised syllabus and as a result of this, an effective evaluation system-credit system is being used. VJTI provides the courses as following : diploma, B.Tech., M.Tech., MCA, Ph.D. The admission procedure for VJTI is centralised and reservations are as per the government rules. In mechanical engineering department, intake for B.Tech is 60. Senior faculty members at VJTI have pursued PhD and others pursuing doctorate, hence expertee in their field. Also, the professors are readily accessible even outside the class. From the semester VI, students can choose one ssubject of their choice as an elective.
Academics & Faculty : All major engineering courses are available. environmental engineering and structural engineering are also available . VJTI has exam pattern wherein two in-semester tests are arranged and end-sem exam are schedules over a semester. final year project is the only academical compulsory project, unlike some college having projects evn for third year. reguar assignments. Teaching quality is good. sometimes, students need to make effort to self study lot of things, but sometimes! professor accessibilty outside classes is appaudable. They are always always to solve issues.
