Placements and Internships
- Students have the luxury of getting internships of their choice of profile. I wanted a role in Operations and has been lucky enough to procure an Operations profile internship in a leading automobile firm. Stipend was Rs. 40,000/-. The internship experience was definitely helpul in gaining an understanding of the actual application of theoretical concepts in the industry.
- Majority of the students had opted for Marketing profiles. Next most sought after was Operations profiles, followed by Finance, HR and Consulting profiles. The detailed breakup of the same has been included in the institute's official Placement Report, which is available on the institute's website.
- Average salary was about Rs 10.75 lakhs per annum for the 2013-'15 batch. It is expected to be higher for the 2014-'16 batch. About 90% of the batch had been placed in 2013-'15, while the rest of the students either opted out to try out their own ventures or due to non-availability of preferred profiles. The highest domestic salary offered was about Rs. 16.5. lakhs per annum while the highest international salary was about Rs. 43.3 lakhs. - IIM Kashipur is a relatively new college as it was incepted only in 2011 with the first batch passing out in 2013. Hence our Alumni strength is very small, but nevertheless, we are no weak when it comes to maintaing our ties with our alumni. The institute frequently conducts City meets at Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai etc. some of which are even attended by the institute's Director himself. This underscores the significance the institute places on its alumni network. The institute also hosts Alumni interactive sessions periodically for the current students.
Academics and Faculty
- Academics is at the heart of any IIM and particularly so at IIM Kashipur. Academics doesn't only centre around lectures, but also real-life business situations through case studies, role-plays, industry and field visits, live projects etc. Learning opportunity is tremendous and it is upto the individual candidate to make optimum utilisation of the facilities offerred by IIM Kashipur.
- Lecturers with vast academic experience are at the heart of the faculty fraternity. As mentioned above, teaching pedagogy involves the state-of-the-art methodologies followed at global world class B-schools as well as including methodologies that are unique to IIM Kashipur due to its locational advantage viz. frequent industry visits, live projects etc.
Fees and Scholarships
- The tuition fee for the 2014-'16 batch was Rs 8,00,00/- for 2 years combined together. Additional refundable and non-refundable fee amounted to Rs 29,500/- for 2 years. Refundable caution deposits were approximately Rs 6,500/-.
- Several scholarship options available to students.
- IIM Kashiput offers scholarship to 10% of its students based on the family income. This scholarship is applicable to all categories of students. Students with less than 3,00,000/- annual family income in the last financial year are eligible for the above scholarship. The MHRD also offers another scholarship to eligible SC/ST students.
- Loans are easily available for education purpose at IIM Kashipur. State Bank of India has a branch just opposite to IIM Kashipur's current temporary campus. The Branch Manager and Regional Manager personally visits the campus during the induction day and makes a presentation to the students regarding the terms and conditions of the loan. Once you have applied for loan, the student only needs to drop in an email with the fee amount to the Branch Manager. The student can collect the DD for the required fee amount by the next working day.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility is graduation and admission procedure is based on entrance examination CAT, marks weightage of 10th, 12th, graduation, work experience, Written aptitude test and interview. CAT cut-off varies year on year and based on the student's category (General, OBC, ST, SC, or PH) for general, it is around 95 percentile. And percentile of students varies from 95-99.7 percentile.
Academics & Faculty : We have our classes from 8:00 AM in morning till 7:00PM in evening. The course pedagogy follwed in IIM kashipur is Case Based. Each course is designed to a one industry project, 3-4 quizzes(may be surprise quiz) and lot of assignments. We have very good choice of electives available to us and also we can suggest electives to be floated. We have very good faculties having rich experience in indusrty as well as other good B-schools

Academics & Faculty : Faculty and academics were really good at Indian Institute of Management. We used to have visiting faculties from other IIMs and foreign B-Schools as well to teach us specialized courses. Our core faculty also had a rich industry as well as academic experience with a rich research background. Overall the experience was great in terms of learning.
