Entrance Exams and Admissions
The SMIT candidates' selection is based on SMIT entrance examination scores. Candidates can also get admissions based on their Manipal Entrance Test (MET) score or a valid JEE Main rank.
However, the student must have passed class 12 or other equivalent examination with an aggregate of 60% or above, having PCM as compulsory subjects. I took the SMIT offline test back in 2018. The branches are thereby distributed based on their rank in any of the examination mentioned above.

According to our ranks, we get to choose our course. The lesser your rank is the more options you get to choose from. Other than this, one can get admission based on their JEE rank or their MUOET entrance exam rank.
