Science Olympiad offers interscholastic academic competition in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and technology. The Science Olympiad consists of a series of individual and team events, requiring information on scientific facts, Fundamental concepts, Scientific processes, Key skills, and science applications in practical life. Science Olympiad is a competitive exam conducted by a different organization (Individual/Government) on different levels (Zonal, National, International Level) to enhance the scientific reasoning, logical ability, and analytical skill is among the student through a rigorous test.

Every Science Olympiad aims to push a career in science; to challenge the brightest students around the world, and to match the varied teaching systems of each country. Though the competitions are aimed at school students, the standards of the exams are very high. In fact, in many countries, achieving a high ranking in any ISO guarantees access to a university of alternative and a fellowship.
Science Olympiad Registration:
There are many numbers of Science Olympiad that are conducted in India by different Organizations (Individual / Governmental). Many Organizations accept Individual Participation whereas some of them do not encourage Individual Participation and in that case, students are required to register themselves through the School (If the School is registered otherwise students can request their respective school authorities to register themselves). The Details regarding the Registration Date for various Olympiads has been mentioned below along with the exam conducting body.
The different registration criteria for different Science Olympiad has been Stated below:
Science Olympiad Foundation NSO:
Students from Std. I to XII are eligible for the NSO exam. There will be no 2nd level exam for the students of Std. 1 & 2. Students can only apply through respected schools as It does not encourage Individual Participation.
Unified Council NSTSE
All students studying in Class X in any recognized school are eligible to write the state level examination of the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) from the state in which the school is located. Students registered under Open and Distance Learning are also eligible for the exam provided the age of students is not 18 years or above.
ASSET Science Olympiad:
Students from Std. III to X are eligible to apply for the ASSET Science Olympiad. Since ASSET Science does not encourage and permit individual participation, a minimum of 10 students from every school should participate.
SilverZone iOS Olympiad:
The eligibility criteria for SilverZone International Olympiad of Science differs from the different level of Exam and they are:
For the Level-1 Exam:
All students studying from class I to XII are eligible to apply. Students must be pursuing their studies in science as the main subject.
For the Level-2 Exam:
Students who have appeared in the level 1 exam of IOS and managed to get rank in Top 1000 rank holders. Those students where the minimum number of participants is 100 and if they have scored more than 60% are eligible for Level 2 examination of the International Science Olympiad.
For the Level-3 Exam:
The student who secured the 1st rank from Class 6th to Class 12th in level 2 exam is eligible to appear for the Level 3 exam of Science Olympiad which will be conducted at New Delhi.
EduHeal National Biotechnology Olympiad:
The Student from std. I to XII are eligible to register themselves for the EduHeal National Biotechnology Olympiad. You must be from a participating school that should be affiliated to ICSE, CBSE, State Board and you should have basic General Information, there is no other eligibility criterion like minimum marks, gender, etc.
EduHeal National Space Science Olympiad:

Only students who belong to participating schools will be eligible to fill the EduHeal NSSO Registration 2023 form.

You must be from a participating school that should be affiliated to either/both/all ICSE, CBSE, State Board.

You should be a student of any class from 1 to 12 to get eligibility for EduHeal NSSO Registration 2023.

HBCSE International Science Olympiad:
The eligibility criteria for NSE (1st Round) is as mentioned below:
For Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics:

Students must be Indian Citizens and must be between 15-20 years of age.

The student has not completed or studying in class 12th board examination before 30 November as in the year of examination.

The student has taken or been planning to take admission in any University in the following year of the Olympiad (for example is the exam is in the year 2024.

The students must not be appearing for NSE Junior Science in the same year of examination.
For Junior Science:

Only Indian Citizen Students who are residing and studying in India.

The Student must be aged between 14-15 years of age in the examination year.

The student must not have completed or studied in class 10th board examination before 30 November as in the year of examination.
KVPY Exam 2023:
The Student from class XI, XII and 1st year of an undergraduate program in basic science and the different criteria of eligibility for SA, SB, and SX and the detailed has been mentioned below in detail:
SA Stream: The SA stream is for the students studying in the 11th standard, and requires the following criteria to be fulfilled to get eligibility.

The student must have scored at least 75% marks (65% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in Mathematics and Science in the 10th standard board examinations.

They must continue their undergraduate course in Basic Sciences (B.Math/B.Stat/B.S./B.Sc./Int. M.S./ Int. M.Sc.).

The student must have scored at least 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in Mathematics and Science in the 10th board examinations.
SX Stream: The SX stream is for the students enrolled in the 12th standards in science subjects and aspiring to continue his further study in the field of basic science, and requires the following criteria to be fulfilled to get eligibility.

The student must have scored at least 75% aggregate marks (65% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in Mathematics and Science in the 10th standard board examinations.

The student must have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in Mathematics and Science in the 12th standard board examinations.
SB Stream: The SB stream is for the students enrolled in the first year of their undergraduate program in the subjects related to basic science, and requires the following criteria to be fulfilled to get eligibility.

The student must have scored at least 60% aggregate marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in Mathematics and Science in the 12th standard board examinations

The student must have scored at least 60% aggregate marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in the 1st year final examination of the respective degree in science.
NMMS Olympiad Exam:
The applicant pursuing his/her study in class 9th and 10th can apply under the Pre-Matric scholarship category whereas the candidate who is studying in class 11th and 12th needs to use under the Post Matric scholarship category. The student required to score a minimum of 40 percent in aggregate in both the test (MAT and SAT). The 8 percent relaxation will be provided to the students from SC/ST category.
At the time of selection for the award of scholarship, the student must score at least 55% mark or equivalent grade in Class 8th examination.
NTSE Olympiad Exam:
NSTSE Stage-1:
- All students studying in Class X in any recognized school are eligible to write the state level examination of the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) from the state in which the school is located.
NSTSE Stage-2:
- All students of Indian Nationality studying in Class X are eligible to write the exam even if they study outside India.
TERI Green Olympiad:
Level 1: Students participating from classes IV and V lie at this level.
Level 2: Students participating from classes VI to VIII lie at this level.
Level 3: Students participating from classes IX and X lie at this level.
