SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility of SSC CHSL Depends upon a number of factors such as

  • Nationality
  • Educational Qualification
  • Age

The first two conditions are rigid however, in the last condition, relaxation is provided on the basis of the category to which the candidate belongs to. The candidates who are satisfying the eligibility criteria should analyse the SSC CHSL Syllabus and start their preparation.

SSC CHSL Eligibility- Nationality

  • A candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Candidate can be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
  • A candidate can be Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • A person of Indian origin, who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC CHSL Eligibility- Educational Qualification

The Candidate applying for SSC CHSL 2019 must have passed class 12 from recognized board/university or any equivalent degree.

The candidate applying for the post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India should have completed class 12 in the science stream with mathematics as one of the subjects.

SSC CHSL Eligibility-Age Limit

General Category: A candidate must have attained a minimum age of 18 years and should not be more than 27 years old.

Who are Not eligible for SSC CHSL?

The following candidates are not eligible for the exam:

  • Candidates not having science with maths in 12th class are not eligible for DEO(Data entry operator).
  • Candidates age less than 18 years or more than 27 years(except for reserve classes).
  • Candidates not satisfying the Nationality criteria.

Q: What is the SSC CHSL Exam?

Ans: Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC)  in order to recruit candidates for the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ Postal Assistant (PA), /Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), / Sorting Assistant (SA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO).
