The candidate shall have to enter their personal and academic details in HSSC 2023 application form. About HSSC Exam

The full form of HSSC is Haryana Staff Selection Commission. Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) was constituted on Jan 28, 1970, by the Government of Haryana, as per the provision of Article 309 of the Constitution of India. The commission mainly conducts the recruitment examinations/interviews for Group ‘C’ services for the State of Haryana, and may also conduct the recruitment examinations/interviews for Groups ‘B’ and ‘D’ services if the State Government requires so.

HSSC 2023 exam pattern for recruitment of various posts under the exam are below.

HSSC 2023 Exam Pattern for Junior Engineer, Gram Sachiv and Canal Patwari Posts

In the exam, there will be a written test, which will have a weightage of 90%. Remaining 10% marks will be given on the basis of Socio-Economic criteria and experience. The written test will further contain 75% General and technical topics and the remaining 25% will test the knowledge of the candidate about various aspects of Haryana.

The Socio-Economic Criteria includes the following:

  • 5 marks will be awarded to the candidate if any of the candidate's relative (which includes father, mother, spouse, brother, and Son) was or is not a part of any organization under state or central Govt.
  • 5 marks will be awarded if the candidate is a widow/the applicant's father died before attaining the age of 42 years/the applicant's father died before the applicant attained the age of 15 years.
  • 5 marks will be awarded if the candidate belongs to any of the denotified or Nomadic tribe which does not come under either Backward or Schedule classes

The candidate will be given 0.5 marks for each year for their Experience in the same or a higher post in any other Govt Department. The maximum marks that can be given for experience are 8.

HSSC 2023 Exam Pattern for Sub Inspector (SI) and Constable Posts in Haryana Police

The selection process consists of three steps.

Written Test (Knowledge Test): It constitutes 80% weightage of the total score. There are a total of 100 questions. Each question carries 0.80 marks. The medium can be Hindi or English.

Physical Screening Test: The candidates qualifying the Knowledge test will proceed for the Physical screening test. In this, the candidates have to run a certain distance in a predefined time. This test is qualifying in nature. The details of the Physical screening test is as follows.

Physical Measurement Test: This test is also qualifying in nature, in which the candidate must have height and chest measurements equal to or more than the specified standards.

10 marks are dependent upon Additional qualification that the candidate has over the normally prescribed qualification for the posts.

  • For Constable, a candidate who has done graduation will be given 4 marks, and the candidate who has done postgraduation will get an additional 3 marks.
  • For SI, a candidate who has done graduation in Law or forensic medicine or forensic science or Computer Engineering/Science will get 3 marks, and the candidate who has done Post- graduation will get an additional 3 marks.

HSSC 2023 Syllabus

The syllabus for the written exam is the same for all vacancies except the vacancies in Haryana police (both SI and Constable). HSSC 2023 exam syllabus is given below.

HSSC 2023 Syllabus for Junior Engineer, Gram Sachiv and Canal Patwari Posts

There will be one written exam for these posts for 90 marks. 75% of the syllabus will be general and 25% syllabus will check the candidate's knowledge related to the state of Haryana.

The Majority portion containing 75% weightage will include General Awareness, Reasoning, Maths, Science, Computer, English, Hindi, and relevant subject as per post. The Remaining portion will contain History, Current Affairs, Literature, Geography, Civics, Environment, Culture, etc. of Haryana.

HSSC 2023 Syllabus for Sub Inspector (SI) and Constable Posts in Haryana Police

A written test will be conducted having 80% weightage in the overall score. The test will have questions from General Awareness, General Science, Current Events, General Reasoning, Mental Aptitude, Numerical ability, Agriculture and animal husbandry and the relevant topics related to the posts.

The syllabus is the same for both SI and Constable, however, the difficulty level of the paper for Constable will be of 10+2 level, whereas the difficulty level of the paper for SI will be of graduate level.

HSSC 2023 Recruitment

HSSC 2023 selection procedure for the posts of constable and SI is different from all the procedures of all the other posts.

HSSC 2023 Recruitment for Junior Engineer, Gram Sachiv and Canal Patwari Posts

For these posts, there will be a written exam, in which the candidates have to score above the cut off decided by the commission. The written test will contribute to 90 marks out of 100. The rest 10 marks will be given on the basis of Socio-Economic criteria and Experience.

The Socio-Economic Criteria includes the following.
