CFA Exam Pattern 2024: Level 1
According to the CFA test pattern, there are 180 multiple-choice questions in the Level 1 exam. The exam is divided into two sessions, each lasting 135 minutes. Candidates are required to turn up for both sessions.
- In the morning session, which lasts for two hours and fifteen minutes, the candidate must respond to 90 multiple-choice questions.
- The candidate will have 2 hours and 15 minutes in the afternoon session to answer the final 90 multiple-choice questions. There is the equal weighting given to each question, and incorrect answers do not receive a deduction in marks.
- Topics including ethics and professional standards, quantitative methods, economics, financial reporting, and analysis will all be covered in the exam's first session.
- Topics including Corporate Issuers, Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Alternative Investments, and Portfolio Management will be covered in the exam's second session.

Item set questions made up of vignettes will be included on Level 2 of the CFA test. There will be two testing sessions: one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
The exam will have a total duration of 4 hours and 24 minutes, which will be split into two parts.
- There is no deduction for incorrect responses; each question is worth three points.
- Each session will last for two hours and twelve minutes.
- Following each set, there will be four or six MCQs.
- There will be 44 multiple-choice questions in each session.
