Agriculture Common Entrance Test is an exam for individuals who wish to pursue a career in the field of Agriculture, Seed Technology or Organic Farming. It is conducted by the Acharya N.R. Agricultural University which is located in the state of Andhra Pradesh.  

What is AGRICET?

The Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University conducts Agriculture Common Entrance Test (AGRICET). This is a state-level exam that is conducted to provide a 4 years Honours course in Bachelor’s Degree Courses to the candidates in the field of Agriculture and Seed Technology. It is conducted in the offline mode/ Traditional mode for 1 hour 30 minutes. A candidate must clear this exam to get admission into the university to pursue the courses in Agriculture and Seed Technology.

AGRICET 2021 Exam Date

AGRICET exam dates are set by the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University to conduct the exam for a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes. A candidate who wishes to pursue a Bachelors’ Degree in the field of Agriculture and Seed Technology must appear for this exam and register before the due date. AGRICET 2021 Eligibility

Candidates appearing for the exam must meet the AGRICET eligibility criteria set by the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University. If the candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria, she/he will not be allowed to appear for the exam and will be disqualified. These criteria are extremely essential for candidates to go through before applying for any of the programmes offered by the University. The AGRICET criteria are given below.

  • The candidate should have passed two years Diploma in Agriculture/ Seed Technology/ Organic Farming from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University or from Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University.
  • Candidates in the final year of their Diploma courses can also apply for the exam.
  • Age Limit: Candidates must complete 17 years of age as on 31st December 2019 with an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates and 25 years in the case of SC/ST and 27 years in the case of Physically Challenged candidates.

AGRICET 2021 Application Form

For filling the AGRICET 2021 application form a candidate must fill the application form online on the registered portal of the university. The candidate must have a valid email id and phone number before filling the application form. The candidate can fill the application form and pay the application amount either before the last date of filing the application form or after the last date but along with a penalty. Some important points are given below that a candidate must follow after filling the AGRICET application form.

  • The applicant must pay the application amount before the last date of payment for the application to be submitted successful and appear for the exam.
  • The candidate must download and print the AGRICET 2021 application form by logging in with Payment Reference ID and Registration Number and click on Get Application Details
  • The candidate after submitting the AGRICET form successfully online the candidate must take a print out of the application form and attach copies of the below documents and send them by either Registered Post or Speed Post to “The Convener-AGRICET, The Associate Dean, Agricultural College, NAIRA 532 185 Srikakulam District, A.P.
  • The list of Documents (copy) to sent along with the hard copy of the Application form are:
    • Hard copy of online submitted form
    • Proof of Age (Xerox copy of SSC Certificate)
    • Attested copy of the marks statement of X Standard and Diploma Course or Completion Certificate or Diploma issued by the head of the institute.
    • Latest character certificate issued by the Head of the Institute last attended indicating that she/he has never been found guilty of misconduct during the study period and never been fined or punished.
    • Latest caste certificate issued by Mandal Revenue Officer. (Only in the case of SC/ST/BC’s)
    • Proof of Local Status (last 7 years) through study or residence.
    • Certificate issued by the concerned authorities in special categories like Physically Disabled, NCC, Sports and CAP.
    • Self-attested passport size photograph.
    • Payment acknowledgement paid through online

Registration fee:

A candidate must pay INR 500/- in the case of General Category and INR 250/- in the case of SC/ST/Physically Disabled if they pay before the last date of submission of the Application Form. Candidates paying after the last date of submission of Application Form must pay INR 1000/- in the case of General and INR 500/- in the case of SC/ST/Physically Disabled.

Note: If a candidate fails to send the copies of the above documents along with the hard copy of the Application form then he/she will not be eligible for the counselling process.

AGRICET 2021 Admit Card

AGRICET 2021 hall ticket will be available on the official website and a notice will be issued when the hall tickets will be released. Applicants must log in and download and print out the AGRICET 2021 hall ticket by entering their Registration Number with respective Diploma Specialization (Agriculture/ Seed Technology/ Organic Farming) with Entrance Test Centres that they have preferred (Tirupati/ Bapatla/ Naira). The candidates must carry their hall ticket copy to the examination centre along with them. If they fail to do so they will not be allowed to write the exam.

AGRICET 2021 Exam Pattern

The exam is conducted by the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University for a time period of 1 hour 30 minutes and is usually conducted during the first half of the day. In which candidates must answer 120 questions carrying one mark each. It is one paper based on the candidates opted specialization (Organic Farming, Seed Technology and Agriculture). The questions will be related to what has been taught over the years to test the knowledge and practical understanding of the students. The paper pattern is given below

The candidates must answer the paper in OMR sheets provided. They must colour the answer to the particular question of what they think to be the right answer.

The syllabus is decided by the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University based on the specialization the candidate wants to pursue his/her Bachelor’s Degree. The University has three Specializations, Agriculture, Seed Technology and Organic Farming. The AGRICET syllabus of each are given below.

AGRICET 2021 Cut-Off

The cut-off limit decides if a candidate has qualified or not. If a candidate scores beyond the minimum limit then the candidate shall qualify for the counselling session If not the candidate can reappear the following year.

General: The candidate must score a minimum of 25% of marks. That is the candidate must score 30 out of 120.

SC/ST: No minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates. However, their admission will only be limited to the number of seats allotted

Note: The seats are allotted in the ratio of 85% for local candidates and 15% towards unreserved quota. Out of 72 seats, 65% of the seats are for Convener Quota at the time of counselling and remaining 35% are for Management of Affiliated Agricultural Colleges from the merit list obtained from the examination following the rules and regulations of the University.

AGRICET 2021 Results

AGRICET 2021 results will be announced on the University website and the candidates that have qualified will be informed about the counselling dates on the website itself. If there are two or more candidates securing the same combined score then such tie shall be resolved so that the relative ranking is decided. The following is the method used to resolve the tie.

  1. Total marks secured in the AGRICET exam.
  2. Percentage of Aggregate marks secured in the exam.
  3. SSC Overall Grade Point.
  4. If the tie still persists then the date of birth of the concerned candidates, the older being given preference over the younger.

The counselling session which takes place after the candidate has qualified the exam will be held at the university auditorium.
